i don't know if they have anything lined up but I'll miss the Eurosport coverage.

BBC can not and will not do the series justice.

Someone mentioned in a previous thread that Julian had signed with Dorna, but didn't provide a link, so I don't know how reliable it was.

I think it was in the MCN a few weeks ago, so it aint true

Yeah..I'm definitely in denial, cause I can't accept after 11 years Dorna have killed it dead. Dennis Noyes commented on how tragic it was today that this was Eurosport's last race, and Toby and Julian went quiet. You'd expect them to respond with some barbed comment in the direction of Dorna decision making, or perhaps they're taking the dignified 'Hayden' 'It's their loss' type exit....or perhaps they know something. More likely Julian has secured that official Dorna commentary position I was on about from/alongside Nick Harris, and Toby's got the gig as Carmelo's travelling rent boy.

have julian & toby mentioned that this is the end of the line on air ?

i usually sky+ it and fast forward to the racing/quali so i haven't heard anything

i wonder if dorna have realized bbc dont do adverts. not a good move when the sport is in need of sponsors i wouldn't have thought. we all know ezy doesn't think things through before making major decisions.

Toby, Jules and Randy, they could lighten up even a bad race (like todays, unfortunately) with their enthusiasm

Good Bye Toby, Jules and Randy

...

I cant see bbc (c=crap) showing any of the practice or quali for 125, 250 (even though there are 3 british riders in 125!!). If so it will be on the "interactive button" which is fuing useless if u want to sky+ any of it!! And i wont even mention the comentary on the bbc!! And will the races like philip island etc be live becouse of the time difference?, i doubt it. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!!

Goodbye Toby, Jules and Randy, you will be missed!!!!

yeah good bye dudes loved every minute of it even wife got into your commentary.see you
(still not seen anything on what the guys are doing from now as regards tv/radio)

This certainy feels like the end of an era, no Toby or Julian and a single tyre rule next year (got to love the Michelin adverts saying they'll never back down - err, hello??).
But the sport will keep going forward as it has done for the last 59 years.
Next year will be weird for sure.

anyone read this anywhere MCN Oct 8th ?
sounds like the Beeb not going to be showing as much as we thought ?

Fan's favourites Moody and Ryder could still be on air next year

Dorna struck a deal for the crucial French Market last week. The AB Groupe and Eurosport France will screen Moto GP til 2011.

A similar format could be adopted in the UK market. The perfect scenario would be a terrestrial channel showing the Moto GP race and a dedicated sports channel - possibly pay per view -showing all three classes on all three days. The terrestrial channel would capture a general sporting audience while the satellite channel would cater for committed petrolheads.

Dorna MD Arroyo told MCN: "We believe the new deal in France gives us the fantastic coverage for the next three years combining free to air, pay TV and satellite. "What we have to be extremely aware of is not to neglect the core fans and the amount of hours they like to watch."

Some fans want to watch Friday and Saturday, and a terrestrial network doesn't have the available hours to do this. We have had lots of discussions with British Eurosport. Now we will have meetings in the next few days to discuss coverage.

The main target for the BBC is to keep everything in house, but they have a large amount of hours from Formula One and Moto GP. So one of the options is to reach a deal to continue with British Eurosport, or maybe deal with Setanta or Sky. We have to balance what is in the best interest of the sport and the audiences we are trying to reach."

A decision on whether British fans will be able to choose to watch Moto GP on the BBC or satellite channel will be made after the final race in Valencia.

im gonna miss those guys, and im definatly not looking forward to next year with BB fg C!
