A blast from the past....

It's been many years since I logged on or even snuck around. Real strange how it's gone back to motogpforum.com from powerslide.net. It's like getting a chance to go back to a house you use to live in. Some familiar faces and others not so. I can tell a lot of the same arguments (Rossi this, Pedrosa that...trolling (my fav))....same ...., new day....

Has any of old members came back or still around? I noticed Jumkie, Povol, and JohnnyKnok still being active.

Anyway, I've been through some life changes...moved outta Colorado back to NewMexico. I've been borrowing bikes from friends and my dad, so getting to have some fun, just no track days anymore. Got into Jeeps, and having a blast exploring in that with the family.

As of few days ago my wife and kid went back to Singapore for 3 weeks, my parents jetted to mexico for a vacation and my beer buds are all a way so I have a ton of time to myself.

I happened to flip through a European Rider magazine being all about the upcoming motogp '16 season. Had a good article catching up with Ben Spies. He had the Stoner family visit him for a month or two after inviting Casey over to go hunting. He has been really close with Lorenzo and Jorge is the only one still racing he's in touch with. He mentions how he dosen't regret retirement, and still a massive fan. Watches everything (practice, qualies and races) live. Was in it for the money, problem is gp bikes are way to stiff (no pitch/dive) so you could ride around the bike you had to take it for what it is. He said Lorenzo and Marc are the only two racing who are on another level. Something he never saw in anyone else (I can;t help to think if he forgot to include Stoner). Anyway as good as the article was (made me think of this forum) I still think what has made this sport to the state that it is today, is not Jorge&Marc's talent, it is the fact that riders are more like jockeys than the tall long lanky types (Edwards, Rossi, xaus,,,,etc). Still as alway just my 2cents ...

So I am still a Rossi fan boy and think he's GOAT cause COME ON even five years ago if someone said he'd be winning and fighting for the title in 2015 I'd said ...............

Anyway, hows everyone doing?

Howdy Trav and welcome back man

With your post, the reason Spies would not have mentioned CS is because it was still racing, but to me the omission of VR was interesting

Some of the old heads are still here, some new and some sadly no longer (Rog for example)
