Dorna provide money to Satellite teams and extra Satellite team means more expense for Dorna, probably without providing an avenue for extra earnings. Dorna doesn't give money to factory teams.
I know about that. However, I still don't think that is the reason for them digging in their heels. I am sure that, even if KTM waived the satellite team money, they will still deny them.

Yes we don't know their internal reasons and probably will never know so we can only speculate

Pernat is saying there's a possibility of seeing Mir on Pramac Ducati the next season. Then again, it's Pernat so take it with a grain of salt.

Nothing against Joan but taking him over Marc is insane.
It really surprises me that Arbolino won't get to move up even though two riders will be leaving Ducati.
Depending on whether Bez stays at VR46 or leaves for Pramac I'd say Franco will end up at Gresini or taking Marco's seat at VR46.
My prediction is if Marco goes to Pramac Mir will end up at Gresini, if Marco stays at VR46 Marc will be on the Pramac.

So what is Gresini getting out of this? I find it difficult to believe they really wanted Jake. I'm not exactly sold on Arbolino but given the choice between the two, I'd take Tony.
Jake has made lots of progress this season but I'm sure most if not all teams would take Arbolino over him.
I think the Dorna is quite keen on having some "diversity" in the championship and not just Spanish and Italian guys mixed up with a few Japanese riders.
That's also why Joe Roberts was in consideration to become Aleix' teammate at Aprilia before 2021

Marc has to pay 25 mill of compensation for breaking his Honda contract early. It was always an impossibility, in 2024 at least.
I suppose the other angle is Honda not paying $25M for Marc in 2024 knowing he isn't going to win the championship

I agree. If anyone is going it is Pol. I can see Jack and Acosta swapping for 2025 if KTM need someone to mentor. Pol has been in GP since 2014. Only Marc has been on the grid longer, if you discount his brothers 2 yr stint with Pramac Ducati in 2010.

To play devils advocate I think we have seen the best Jack has to offer. Why Jack instead of Pol? Because Pedro should get a factory seat from the get go.

That's a crazy stat in many ways. I just now realized that none of the riders of the season where I started watching are still left (if you ignore Bautista's cameo at Sepang). Marc was always that young guy and now only Aleix is more experienced than him. Seems crazy that Pol has been around for that long as well.

Sito Pons will close his team after this season, the MT MSI Moto3 team is expected to take his spots and expand to Moto2 with Moreira as one of their riders.

I can't see Miller becoming world champion but I see him as a better rider than Pol. What I'm predicting based on the available information is that Pol will be the test rider with 6 wildcards + injury subs in 2024 and in 2025 Acosta will be moved to the factory team, so baring injury that will be Miller gone, either to Gas Gas or to another satellite team. There's also the possibility of KTM having a 3rd team in 2025.

Very likely. However we may not have seen the true potential of Pol yet. He went from a slow bike to a terrible honda to a bad injury. I think he is the better brother but his motogp stat don't show that. Add to that if what everyone is saying is true that Jack has helped KTM round the corner than he is the better person to have as a test rider. But don't forget KTM already has an excellent test rider. I wouldn't replace DP with Jack or Pol.

I would disagree about Pol. He has a reputation for bottling it. He made a meal of the Moto2 world title and lost 2 or 3 opportunities to win in 2020 with KTM. 2 of those occasions another KTM rider took the opportunity (Binder at Brno, Oliveira at Austria). Don't forget the slow Honda is the bike he asked for (early 2022, "Honda have given me the bike I asked for and we are back") and given Aleix helped develop the early Suzuki and the Aprilia, I rate him higher as a development rider.

As you said though, I keep Dani as a test rider over either Jack or Pol.

All the more reason NOT to want him as a development rider. If I had to sack one of them I'd say Pol. If one became a test rider I'd go with Jack.
