2024 silly season!

I personally think Valentino Rossi is playing a big part in that......

It annoys me though that it seems many riders getting kicked out of teams for lack of performance are hunting a Ducati as some sort of magical redemption. Being fired from a factory Yamaha team shouldn't get you a near factory spec Ducati.
vr is definitely a super salesman.

On your second point of redemption, I agree. If we’re right I will kind of enjoy watching him flounder. I never liked him after some his comments his first year in MGP. I think too much vr attitude has rubbed off on him and not enough real riding talent.

It could also be that that major injury has messed up Franky’s head and or his body. Could also be the case with Bastianini, who hasn’t looked the same since his return either.

I think there is something to the argument that the Honda has gone to .... with Marc as the top rider. For some of the same reasons as Stoner/Ducati as has been pointed out.

Yes, engineers can dream stuff up. But they don’t ride the bike at speed. One of the skills of a ”great” rider is to be aware of the physics of the machine in motion and be able to translate that back to engineers and help the team come up with solutions to whatever the problem of the moment is.

Not every rider has this skill. Two of the best ever, Hailwood and Marquez, didn’t have it. Marquez has been at Honda long enough, without a competitive teammate, for everybody to see the results decline.
I'd go further and say the Honda has been a pos since Stoner was there. Who other than Casey and Marc have had anything other than one of random successful races?

Why in the .... of all ..... would dorna reject another factory bike for KTM? Its like they try as hard as they can to make this sport as unlikable as possible. Its like they are laughing at us. Stevie Wonder could see that dorna is absolutely ....... stupid. Seriously does anyone have a good reason why they wouldn't?

If I put my tinfoil hat on and ask myself why an organization that allowed Honda to have a third bike for Dovi and got rid of the rookie rule for Marquez won't allow KTM to have another bike I'd say its to push Pedro Acosta to another manufacturer that starts with D and ends with ucati.

For Honda to come back they need to reorganise themselves, probably in a similar fashion to Ducati. They had the chance to employ Gigi and missed it.

I agree that Dorna should allow more bikes on the grid, however KTM shouldn't of had 5 riders contracted when they only had 4 bikes.

All politics. There is no reason for it. Well... they have a reason, but they just won't make it public. And it's not about having to pay Satellite Team money.

While I agree the situation is KTM's own doing, this is not really the issue here. There are multiple ways Dorna could have allowed them additional slots on the grid, but they just refuse everything. Definitely some under handed ..... going on.

Look to team custard clown and a future change of manufacturer. The cookies have been laid all along.

Let's be honest, Honda has rarely ever listened to rider input when it came to developing the bike. They've always been the most prideful of the Grand Prix manufacturers, often designing killing machines that needed generational talent to win with. Problem is that at least they were capable to build fast bikes in the past, if only in the hands of a special rider like Doohan, Casey or Marc, but now they've lost the ability; I know Marc is not worse than his brother, 19th place in practice is not indicative of his actual current skill, even if slightly diminished after the injuries. If Honda can't build a non-embarrassing bike for 2024, they risk the possibility of every single decent rider avoiding them like the pest. Amazing that the Repsol lineup for 2025 could look like Nakagami-Lecuona, how the mighty have fallen.

I mean they already are. All their riders want to leave other than Naka. The only rider that signed is someone with no other options.

I'm not conspiracy-minded, but Occam's Razor and all, would lead one to think: A. Who stands to lose the most if KTM were allowed another rider?, and B: Who presently, has the biggest influence with Dorna? Do the math.

Any news on what KTM is doing with 5 riders for 4 seats? There's so much clickbait out there with just about every possibility presented as fact...

Ai Ogura has also decided to jump the sinking ship and signed for the new MT Moto2 team where he'll partner Sergio Garcia. Moreira had already committed to Italtrans before the sale of Pons Racing was announced.

Last I heard was it comes down to whether Pol or Augusto perform better in the next races.
Speaking of getting to stay on for another year, Joe Roberts gets to hang in Moto2, going back to American Racing. Joe should probably thank his lucky stars for this chance.
I do like the guy so I'm happy he's sticking around. Has he been impressive this year? Not in the slightest.
It seems like SDK is out for good so Joe is once again the only American in the world championship.

Sounds logical.

There's being all sorts of talk going on about the KTM rider situation. There's one about circulating the riders in Gas Gas, ie 2 of the 3 riders at a race and then the one that missed out is at the next race. Add in the 6 wildcards plus injury subs and they are getting closer to a season yet. I'd like to see how the engine rule goes with that one

I have a feeling that Honda will do something unexpected and get back in the hunt sooner than expected, there are a lot of moving parts and things going on behind the scenes that will take time of course, but Honda is a big and talented company that can do it when it puts it's mind to it !

Pains to say as I wanted him to do better as a countryman. Acosta straight to KTM Factory as deserved. Miller out and test rider/ wild card specialist. It'll suit his lifestyle and the factory money without working full time.

I don't see this because Dani Pedrosa has done more to help KTM than anybody. I don't think they are willing to lose him in that role.
