It is heavily debatable whether he is greater than Marquez who may have one less title but had stronger competition and more machinery parity for his 6 titles.
You left out the overnight special Michelin tyres VR used to get also.
I don't see it as debateable at all. MM is head and shoulders above VR and was able to do stuff on a motorcycle, prior to the aero and ride height ....., nobody has ever been able to do.
MM just rode away from VR on that machine nobody else could ride.

Is Digi on a one year deal? I'd like to see him continue his late-season form from last year. Maybe he won't wait so long this time around?
Assuming he performs well in the early races similar to the end of last year then he should find a seat

Yes I was thinking downforce but appears shaped the wrong way for that.
If downwash is forcing air down, then in doing so, you are taking load off.
Dunno what purpose that serves at the front of the bike
It's directing airflow down under the belly pan or fairing when leaned over, to increase airflow. It's for ground effect. If you speed the air up under a surface, it creates a negative pressure (downforce)

Stronger competition? Did Marquez run against Stoner? No. Did Marquez run against Pedrosa on his best form? No. Did Marquez run against Lorenzo in his best form? Unlikely. You may speak whatever you want but Rossi had the fiercest competition MotoGP has ever had! He went against Stoner at his peak, Lorenzo at his peak, Pedrosa at his peak and even Marquez himself. No way dude. Marquez main rival during years was the "incredible" Andrea Dovizioso. C'mon...

Refresh my memory. How many championships does Rossi have racing against Stoner, JLo, and MM?

1. Like Mdub said. Rossi only won 2 titles in the 6 seasons he raced all 3 at the same time.
2. Rossi raced in an era with SNS special tyres as one example. His 04 title is also arguably the only title he won on anything but the best bike. Marquez won championships on control tyres, control ECU and others.
3. Marquez has never veto'd a team mate or denied them access to his data. Rossi did both.

Both Pedrosa and Jorge had their best years in 2012. Did they suddenly turn .... in 2013?

Rossi won 2 titles against the fantastic three but he was already 30 years old when this happens. How many WC has MM won being 30 years old? 0. MM also won 2 titles against the 3 "big" names, actually only Lorenzo to be honest, I don't count an old Rossi and an old Pedrosa as truly rivals (not to mention Stoner. If we put Stoner on the play things would have gone very different) as in 2016 Lorenzo had won the 2015 title and left Yamaha for his adventure on Ducati. After that MM won 3 titles against the likes of Andrea Dovizioso but that's just like VR winning over Carlos Checa or Sete Gibernau. The guy sums 115 wins, 235 podiums, 65 poles and 96 fastest laps (MM 82, 134, 90 and 75), many of which against the fantastic four.

I'm sorry but VR is the greatest rider of modern MotoGP, whatever your opinion on him. It doesn't matter if we like him or not. This won't change facts.

If I think VR is a better talent than MM? No, I don't think so to be honest.

I meant how many WC has he won being as old as 30y? damn my english sucks

Your english is good. I guess I am not following. I took that to mean how many championships has he won in his 30's. Which starts this year for him.

Actually last year cause in 2008 Rossi won being 29yo. Anyway, MM can still overcome all Rossi's stats.

old Pedrosa
"Old Pedrosa" retired aged 32 in 2018. Did Dani become washed up 5 years earlier as soon as Marc debuted?

We know injuries and having the bike tailored towards Marc affected him, but cmon, it wasn't age the thing that prevented him from fighting for championships.

Likewise Jorge remained in his prime until 2018, only undone by a slow adaptation to the Ducati and later injuries that drove him to retirement, aged 32 too. Marc went against a competitive old Rossi from 2014 to 16, while Dani/Casey/Jorge practically enjoyed three Rossi-less seasons from 2010 to 12. The fact that Marc's biggest rival from 17 to 19 was Dovi wasn't because of a weak field but bad moves from his main rivals. If you want to highlight what a weak field looks like, look no further than Rossi's comp during 2000-06.

If you want to talk about a weak field, then 2002 is top of that list.

Rossi and Ukawa on 4 stroke RC211V's that were leaps ahead of the Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprilia 4 strokes with the rest of the field on year old 500cc's
