Dovi, Melandri and Kallio into the 1:32 range. Kinda exciting. Helps that there
are less riders out on the track. Wonder how many of those times are
gathered by sling-shotting faster riders.

After the way he raced in
WSBK - with all the forums filled with dubiousness about his ability to compete
in a new environment - it's starting to look like Spies feeds on the
uncertainty of the faithless. I know it's the common way - to be keeping an
eye out for "the next Rossi" but Spies feels more like the next Wayne Rayney,
which would work for me.

I read on Superbike Planet that Yamaha packed up at the end of yesterday. That's why Rossi, Lorenzo, Spies, and Edwards aren't listed in today's times. Not sure why they wouldn't take advantage of the third day though.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Hector Barbera was the fastest of the true rookies, the Spaniard getting up to speed very quickly with the Aspar Ducati. He finished ahead of Marco Simoncelli, who has been riding the factory spec test bikes in the Gresini garage, while Marco Melandri rode the customer-spec Gresini Honda that Alex de Angelis had previously used.

If Marco S. WAS on the Factory-spec (I'm not convinced of this... photographic evidence is compelling) then his performance in testing was less-than-impressive.

He probobly cant tuck behind the pedrocycle. Maybe he should get one of the sweet swing-arm extenders & a bubble screen for that bad boy.

I can't decide who has the bigger head of the 2. Figuratively speaking of course.

Nicky's been there or there abouts all 3 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is a turning point for him. Was he riding the GP10 or GP9?

You need to gauge him agaisnt Casey. He is still almost a second of Casey's pace, much the same. I'm not as optimistic. He need to be within .5 or below for me to believe he has found anything.

Good point, but to be honest as much as I like him, i'm not sure he'll ever get close to Casey on the Desmo. However, if he were to have a season like this 3 day test, whereby he was comfortably in the top 6 then i'd be pretty happy at this moment in time!

I don't know about day two or three but I know that on day one he was swapping back and forth between the GP9 and GP10. I also know that both he and Stoner gave the big bang firing order a thumbs up so if I had to guess I'd say he finished out the test on the GP10.

Gotta go with what you`re saying there,Sacky.

I think I'll make up my mind if Nick's found something at the next test, if in February he's still almost a second down to Casey I'll concede that Nick needs to start looking to WSBK or Satellite teams for 2011 with hopes that 2012 and a displacement increase can revitalize Nick's MotoGP career.

Melandri is the 2nd shortest rider after Dani I think (1.66m 62kg), I think if his Honda had Dani's seat configuration it should be just fine for him.

Well thats because I was talking about the tall marco, as the quoted post above my picture would suggest. Honest mistake comon sence should have told you I was talking about the marco sic though.

If History means anything, what has it told us?

After a race weekend all riders are usually faster, because the track has been nicely paved with rubber and grip is better. Also the weather improved, so probably on the last day conditions were optimal.

Meaning a fast rider pushing to the max should do '30 laps. Stoner must have had a relaxing day.
