100% chance of rain Sunday

Thats why i predict a Rossi win. If not Rossi (team orders and all), Nicky will win!

(btw, one of the thoughts i had in Qatar was that Rossi would summon all the worshippers and commence a rain dance. This will def help him this year. )

Based on what? Rossi is good in the rain, but not a master. Do you think its the bike.?

Rain equalizes shortcomings. I'll never forget when O. Jaque lead on Suz at China in pouring rain. When u got nothing to lose and everybody knows it, peeps will back down. Plus Rossi is a goid rain rider. The bike sux, but we r talking in GP terms compared to sorted Honda & Yams. Rain will erase much of that diff i think. If Stoner, Lorenzo, & Pedro crash, they r STUPID. If they manage to win in the rain, nibody can deny they hav the biggest balls. Its too much to risk. Rossi has zero to lose. Same with Nicky. Data collected in rain is fairly meaningless.

It also exacerbates the effects of injuries , especially ones to arms and shoulders. There is a certain tenseness that comes with riding fast in the rain that makes even the healthiest of arms and shoulders burn

I was thinking of Oliver Jaques replacement rain ride too. Would love to see Hopper grab a podium or even run in the top five for a bit.

Wondering if Honda's gear box will be a bigger advantage in the rain.

seems you forgot that he was riding a kawaski at the time though!

rossi has just as much to lose as all the rest of the riders. he is already injured and falling off, even in the wet at normally lower speeds, carries a risk of new injuries or aggravating the old ones.

and whilst rain does equalise the power deficits of slower bikes because you cant use all the oomph in the wet, set-up is still as important if not even more so now...

Smoother shifting in the rain wont hurt.

Agree

Jumkie, you really are being "Nice Jumkie" - and even if this is probably not going to help your reputation - on this one I agree with you completely - just hope that if it rains, then consistently from Friday to Sunday

Sunny on Friday and Saturday, 100% chance of rain on Sunday. A set up nightmare

Wow, so if they're luck they will all have morning warmup to perfect their wet weather setup?

Has Vale ever ridden the Ducati in the rain? Were any of the tests wet? Has Stoner ridden a Honda in the rain?

Well if nothing else it should be an extremely interesting race. Dovi isn't bad in the wet either if I remember correctly.

If anything, rain should be a hindrance for the stiffer Ducati chassis. It should handle comparatively worse. Speculation on my part, though.

i get what youre hinting at but at the same time you have to keep in mind how much slower speeds are in the rain, turning a bike at a slower speed is always easier so i guess at least the physical part of the ducati and the shoulder can be taken out of the equation.

still think the team of yamaha and lorenzo will rule jerez,if its consistenly went throughtout the circuit all the time i see him beating dovi and stoner for the win.

I don't want to rain on anyone's rain parade but here in Spain the two pages I use to check the weather are predicting a drop in temps and wind speed, but no rainfall (the first link is Spain's national weather bureau, and cite a 25% chance of precipitation):

That weather for ya. Here is what it still says.

Rain. High: 72 °F. Wind SSE 4 mph. 90% chance of precipitation (water equivalent of 0.31 in).

It has dropped from 100% to 90% since yesterday

Stoner 100% for a rain win. Lorenzo and Pedrosa have never been particularly good in the rain although both have improved. I doubt the rain will help Rossi too much either. Spies may do very well.

Track's wet but not very. Hasn't actually rained in a while.

Oops... spoke too soon. Starting to drizzle again.
