Yup, when you spend a few hundred million € you can turn desert into that. They seem to think millionaire tourists is the way to keep the economy going when their oil runs out. I'm not sure that's gonna work. There's plenty of impressive hotels around the world in nicer places than that.

I saw a sheik on TV the other night, when ask about oils longevity he smiled and replied; "What are they trying to replace oil with?...Solar. We have all of the sun as well".

yeah I didn't see to many people walking around with 16oz pils either. Although a stunning facility I'll take Brno any day. Do they still have the portable brothels there?

6 years i lived in Abu Dhabi. The second I come back to Qatar the event takes place a week later. Saw the race live on tv, and i was REALLY impressed. its really something. The track is located on Yas Island, right next to Ferrari Theme Park and Warner Bros Theme Park.

Money can build you alot of things, but money can never buy you history.

Don't let all this stuff fool you guys. Its a mouse trap.

I really impressed with the circuit, better than China , Qatar, Singapore and some other tracks. But if you are referring to night life after racing, there is nothing to shout at Abu Dhabi.. Well you can try at yachts, boats and cruisers..A lot of wild parties there..the harem, the shiekhs..beers flowing freely..

I like the circuit, yes it borrows elements from Shanghai, maybe Valencia. Would rather see the MotoGP opener there than Qatar.

Even thought the UAE is one of the more Western Muslin nations, their rules on alcohol are still very strict.

I like the circuit, but it isn't that great. The king of circuits in the Mid East still is Bahrain.

You are confusing UAE with Saudi
<
. There are written rules and laws in the books in UAE which no one follows. I can explain to you how things are, but in short they are EXTREMELY lenient when it comes to alcohol. Drink driving will get a fine of wats close to 7000 USD. Also by the books you can only purchase alcohol if you have got a permit, BUT if you can always purchase a bottle or two if you know the sales person. There are several shops in other emirates where you can buy your booze from. Not complete "Legal" but they're more in the gray area. Been open for a decade and no one bothers them.
