Here's a quick translation of the interview for you guys:
Vale is asked what he thinks of the Fiat option. Vale says..it's a great idea and he likes it and he hopes it works out well.
When asked what he thought about fiat sponsors he says it's a great Italian brand and he immediately liked it.
Interviewer asks if Vale had his usual input into the design of the bike: Vale replies that he cooperated. Day by day they improved it until everyone more or less liked it. He thinks the result is quite good and he gets involved because he enjoys it.
They stress the cooperation is between the team and the sponsor and vale is asked whether he himself will be advertising Fiat. Vale says it depends on whether an agreement is reached.
Interviewer asks what's left to be done before the first race. Vale says they're more or less done. That both he and Colin have been very fast and therefore the bike is competitive. That in the last two tests they had problems with the tyres on race simulation and therefore he hopes Michelin will give them a hand and bring adequate tyres to Qatar. He thinks this is the one remaining thing to deal with because it seems to him this year's bike goes really well.
He is then asked whether he knows about the sandstorm that hit the Qatar track and which reduced it to a bad state. Vale replies that's an ever present risk in Qatar but that however when they went there the track was in a good state and that then the superbike race was there and the 125's and 250's went there for testing so he thinks the grip on the asphalt won't be bad.
Last question Should everyone be afraid of you, of yamaha and of how much you want to win? Vale replies yes. They're all super hyped up and very concentrated because last year's result left them with a bitter taste in their mouth but according to him it has turned into a major force of motivation for the whole team and he thinks the kind of spirit they have on the team is probably not to be found in any other team right now.
There was also some other commentary about how now that he's being sponsored by Fiat maybe he'd abandon Subaru when it comes to ralleying and Vale apparently commented that if there's a car why not?
Hope that helped all you non-italian speakers out there
