on another issue, I wonder what type of helmet design Vale has instore for the new season? Historically he has a special helmet for winter testing (this year, the excalibur one) which he uses right up until the first practice of the first race, when he finally shows what he'll race with for the year. I actually hope he changes from last year's design, his sun/moon combo from 2003 - 04 - 05 was great but I just didn't take to the squared-off sunrays of 06. But anything could be in play for this year, since it's his first in a long time trying to win a championship instead of defending it: perhaps he'll revive an old design, go back to the 06 version and make sure he wins at least one championship with it, go with excalibur for the whole year to continue the 'fighting back' theme, or something completely new again! Whatever pans out, it's very exciting and I can't wait to see him race again!!!

I actually really like the design. I think they did a great job! as for the helmet Dash, i think he will go with the 06' version sun and moon to go with the leg colours of the leathers. If he does i think it will make the bike look better cause then the legs, the front of the bike and the helmet will be the same colour.
 
Well...upon further examination it isn't that bad. I mainly dislike the number placement on the front.

After all though, it really doesn't matter what the guy in 5th place's bike looks like!

Maybe Edwards in 5th place. I would be a little worried to about the world champs form on the 800 to. No sweat, you'll be right.... Might even see hayden win his 3rd race out of 2 seasons this season. I would be very excited. Bah

You could be right, I don't dig that 06 helmet design but I have to agree that aligning bright yellow along the front end like that would look pretty slick. Vale always has a good sense of style when designing his gear, especially compared to G.I Edwards and his stock standard sponsor-provided designs, who looks pretty plain in comparison!

Much better photography for that last pic. Looks better this
morning so definitely growing on me. Still tipping me off the edge
with regards to fiat though.
 
That will look awesome! Im now a big fan of the Number plates! Rossi always seems to match his leg leathers with his helmet. Its great its bright cause then u can tell where he is at the first corner! well it wasnt hard to see him the first race of the season last year hehe

I think the main difference to SBK are the more elaborate and colorful number plates in motogp...

i guess it may look alright once the rider is actually ON the bike and the coulour may flow abit better. They still all look very superbikey to me (Minus the repsol bikes, thankyou Tom... and probably minus the rizla suzukis too... BUT all the rest!

Superbikes should stick to the way they used to be. Red ducatis, blue and white suzukis, castrol hondas, and yamahas at the back where noone cares.
 
i like the new yamaha look, dont like the gresini. I think gresini has the same sponsor as james toseland(SBK) and his bike paint job is waaaaaayy much better.

Yeah I think he has and that bike livery is wicked! - Infact probably my favourite this season and it looks like it's doing the right job for him on the track also!

having owned one - I can tell you Fiat are probably the worst cars in the world, the yams are looking pretty horrible in the Fiat livery but, so long as they keep piling $$$ into MotoGP..............

Those new Fiat Yamaha bikes are UGLY!! Valentino doesn't seem to be too enthused about them either.
