sorry to interrupt you guys, but is this still a comparison of edwards and bayliss as riders (i think they're both awesome although i like bayliss just a tad more) or is this now more a battle of US vs Australia? because i think that this would be totally unnecessary.

I dunno about antfan (who tends to like Australians more), but i am not from either of the countries and don't particularly care for either rider. I just think that Colin has done more than enough to show he is better than Troy.

Colin's Dad is Australian.so he's got good Aussie blood flowing in his veins, thats why he's a good rider , but not as good as Bayless.

NO NO NO....CollinE's father/mother (sorry for the ignorance) is Australian, all aussies love him!!! He is a great bloke but..but..but he cant ride motoGp’s for ....!!! What he’s been with the top team for 2-3 years, got 2 podiums had a perfect chance to win one and BBlllleeeWWW It Big Time (I couldent belive that) after all the experience he has...so what does Collin neeed????...sorry but its NOT a US v Australia!!! I agree totally. He is riding against a field of always losers. When he was riding against Dani and Casey he was only in the race long enough to be dangerous. Dovi was the same. The level in 250 has come down to where they can look good. I think they will have good battles with the old guys in the mid and rear of the field in 800cc.

Edwards better than Bayliss? You've got to be kidding me! Bayliss' genius was shown last year, coming from WSBK back to motogp and totally dominating, and winning was so brilliant I was lost for words!!!!
I find it a total insult to compare Edwards to Bayliss. Edwards should only be compared with other losers not a winner like Bayliss.

He was runner up in the class that year? But he never actually won the 500 or motogp title. I wonder if all the hype about Lorenzo isn't just a little bit much. Only time will tell.

The lorenzo boy will either impress from the start or just go to pieces when Vale turns the screw.You can see him (Vale)creeping up to Casey gradually already,only time will tell my friends.

It is hilarious to see so many people hail Bayliss better than Edwards based on one race, would we all agree Simon Crafar was better than doohan?? Didn't think so.
As For Jorge, i think many of you have him seriously misjudged, take time to listen to his interviews and you will find him more down to earth and less big headed than any of you like to think, you may even notice how he almost always gives credit to his competitors for pushing him hard and in even beating him. Also i think he is intelligent and mature enough to approach motogp with a learning head, he knows Rossi will have a lot to teach him and he knows watching and listening will work to his advantage. I hope he stays on his bike as much as possible, he was never a major crasher so i hope that continues.

The European press seems to think Edwards will be replaced in the Yamaha team by Jorge Lorenzo next year, but we don't buy it yet.
First of all, Edwards is running pretty well. Is a rookie going to come and perform better, getting some poles and putting the bike on the box? We doubt it.
The second factor is Edwards has been an ideal teammate to Valentino Rossi. Rossi likes Edwards and is comfortable having him on the team. And what Valentino wants at Yamaha, he gets.
