Yamaha deal with Lorenzo confirmed

Just read that as well .

It does state that he has a deal with Yamaha but not with the factory team.

I sure he has though - but it may see Colin then going to Tech 3 .

Be great to see him alongside Vale.

Both are so extravert in their post race antics.

Lorenzo wont want dunlops but then neither will Colin!

they were talking about 5 yamahas next season with either Rossi OR Lorenzo in a 1 rider team presumably to keep them seperate, although i think they would both get factory treatment and then tech 3 continuing as before. would allow Lorenzo to keep Fortuna and then Rossi (and Edwards) to stay with Fiat.

i hope that is the case

firstly - i don't want edwards riding for tech 3 - i want him to finally get that illusive win and it's even less likely on the tech 3 bike

secondly - Rossi & Lorenzo .............. in the same garage ? there'd be fireworks i tell thee

Out of curiosity,
When and Where did they say that?

Theyre too strong characters to be in the same team so i dont think they could ever work like colin + vale do.
However lets face it vale makes up the difference with the bike or else colin would be winning. Vale has said he wil leave moto gp in 2010 so yamaha need to get a good replacement rider who is that extra bit special so theyve struck gold with lorenzo as he could be the one to carry on the wins when vale does leave.

question is will the garage fit both their heads? ....

Matt will tell us .... he knows everything about measurements and fitting things through doors

seeing as lorenzo already had a fight with barbara when they were team mates because he thought he was looking at his tyres before a race i hardly think he'll be wanting to share info with rossi x

In all fairness to Edwards he has done well in moto gp comapred to other riders such as Bayliss hes achieved a lot. He hasnt had the experience of working up from the 125, 250s to perfect that riding skill. Maybe it would be better if he went back to world superbikes as he was fantastic in that, Bayliss went back and dominated myabe he could do the same.

i hope you're not trying to downgrade the success of bayliss in motogp? because if you look at the first season (of both) you see that bayliss in fact did better than edwards in the beginning. bayliss went back to sbk, edwards stayed in motogp, to each his own. edwards is a good rider, for sure. but please don't imply that bayliss didn't achieve anything in motogp, because that's absolutely not true.

Tinks ... what planet are you from? If you think Colin has performed better than Troy did in MotoGP you are absolutely kidding yourself!

Colin rode 250's in the USA!

Colin rode 250 in AMA a long long time ago and i wouldn't have called it hugely significant experience. Also, Edwards is a better rider than Bayliss at superbike and motogp, all the evidence is plain to see.

Uh.. Why hasnt Edwards won a GP race?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (antfan @ Jul 12 2007, 03:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Uh.. Why hasnt Edwards won a GP race?

Because he hasn't been good enough when push comes to shove. But there is more to being a good rider than race wins, Hayden did not win the most races last year, but overall he was the best just like Edwards is better than Troy despite having one less win.

I have to disagree.. Edwards has kept his GP ride ONLY because of Rossi's power at Yamaha and Bayliss was ousted from GP because the Ducati GP squad treated him like .... (for a year.) Both Bayliss and Edwards struggled at Honda.

I think had Bayliss been given the amount of time Edwards has had on a GP bike he'd be doing better than Edwards is doing this year and in previous years.

So you have basically thrown away the 6 years of evidence you have available to compare the two riders and speculated your way to the conclusion you prefer.............good effort.
