Looks like Ducati were playing-up Silverstone as a difficult round for them. In reality, it appears they are enjoying a sizable advantage. Hopper is doing pretty well. 3rd fastest of the fours and according to the Stuart Higgs interview Samsung Crescent don't even use all of the SBK parts.

I`m beginning to give Hopper some respect on the back of his results lately.Seems he`s banished the demons from his head.Good on `im.

I think he is a little motivated by Buckmasters comments. He wasnt really taking a shot per se at Hopkins when he said John would be lucky to finish in the top eight. It was at the Crescent team manager for saying BSB had a s much talent as WSBK, to which Buckmaster basically said, dude, lets smoke out of your bag.

Pleasantly shocked to see him at the top of several sessions. I just hope he doesn't wad himself and the bike.

Superpole in 15...14......

He's into the 2nd round easily enough.

His time would have placed him 6th on the GP grid some 2 seconds of the pole. Considering WSBK uses q's, there is really a 3-3.5 second difference in the 2 series at this track. That tells me 2 things. Order has been restored and the top GP bikes are once again much faster, and, the top WSBK's would be competitive with the bikes that run 10-17 in GP. It also tells us something we already know, after the the top 5-8 in GP, the rest is just inert ingredient

Im getting regular updates from Wilski & Austin who r ther. I would like to add, Austin sent me a text the day BEFORE qual: "Im going on record and saying Hopkins will be on pole." that is no ........!

Im sitting here in Las Vegas, im gonna ask him for the big numbers, im gonna b rich .......!

so, the inert ingredient.. the bikes? or the riders?
<
because i think we all know where john would be on a suzuki.. now on a honda and a month or two? hmm.. lol

anyway good to see him doing well.. as well as eugene..

anyone think hopper will be back in sbk next year? for sure he had really bad luck for the last few

Mainly the bikes, but i have always said i thought the riders from those position were interchangeable with riders from other series

I have said this in another thread, but I think Hopper should take a competitive ride in WSBK and establish a career there than trying to get back to MotoGP. The guy has a chance to be something special on the right machinery in WSBK. I will be hard for him to obtain one of the very few competitive seats in MotoGP (Honda or Yamaha).

Agreed. He should spend the last 8-10 years of his career healthy in WSBK. If he can pick up at least one world title, he goes from a nobody with lots of potential to an American WSBK champ. If he manages to win 3 titles, he'd be the best American superbiker of all time.

Interesting trivia: Hopper is seeking to become only the tenth American to win a WSBK race.

The US has nine WSBK title, and six champions. Only three Americans have won a WSBK race/s without winning the championship--can you name them?

Two are pretty easy, but if you can guess the third guy without looking, you are pretty damn knowledgeable.

I know 2 right off the top of my head. Bostrom and Chandler. I will have to think about the third

correct and correct

Third guy is one of those AMA guys who was always flying under the radar. He has multiple AMA championships to his name, but never an SBK title. He is from the Chandler era. Only 1 WSBK win.

Found it. Would have never guessed it in a 100 years.
