What's it going to take? When will it happen? When we see a female motorcycle rider in the MotoGP ranks????

I'd say that it's inevitable just because it's the type of novelty ........ Dorna like. However, she'd have to be at least credible at the Petrucci/Parkes/DiMeglio level and I don't see any reasonable prospect of a female rider performing at that level for a few years yet.

I suspect the first female MotoGP pilot isn't even in CEV or RBR yet.

i think Maria Herrara might be fast enough for a regular Moto3 seat. looks faster than Carrasco to me. honestly I don't follow CEV really so I have no idea whether there are more girls than her and if so, if they are as fast. but I think the level of competition in CEV is quite high, and Herrara fared quite ok at Jerez (P17 as a wild card, fighting around P12 most of the time). I don't really see a woman in MotoGP within the next 5 years at all, but I think they might start showing up in Moto3 soon, maybe Moto2. but MotoGP is still far, far away.

I wouldnt say its too far fetched.
Just a few yrs ago people would have scoffed at the notion of midgets in GP.
I full expect to see Tyrion Lannister on a factory ride after he's finished eradicating all the Starks.

I don't see it for at least 2 to 3 years. It's still a very physical sport. I don't see anybody coming up through the ranks yet that could compete (even mid-pack) on 1000cc bikes.
