"not that of a multiple world champion" not giving the guy much credit, but hey, not many did this year, especially after Portugal.

I'm not so sure 150+mph is exactly "cruising" and really, I'm not to eager to check on his "balls" but he did show at "...-en"

what he's made of. What say you?
yep i will give you that one jumkie, he did bloody good at assen and did push hard, but he needs to push like that all the time to be a multi champ. mabe he will next year, mabe this world championship will give him the zeal needed. my money is still on the doctor but you new that.

Hey Louzi, so are you. But I'm not looking for debate here. I encourage you to read previous posts by Mr. Shupe, this guy is very insightful. (can't really say the same for roger-m though....(jk)

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Racejumkie @ Nov 2 2006, 10:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Ha ha ha, em I the only person that thinks its funny how people keep coming up with ways (some creative) to take shots at Hayden?

Reading all the threads after Portugal, people took shots and said Hayden didn't have what it takes to be champion (I’m being mild here), then just before the last race most predicted on a poll a resounding win by Rossi. I even saw one that predicted a DNF for Hayden.

Result: Hayden wins. (Rossi crashes).

So here is my prediction for next year: Hayden wins.

They're not creative, they're facts. Look at them for a second... Yes, Nicky won the championship but how can you say that he'll repeat on your own account. Give us a reason why he'll repeat. Some of us have given you reasons and facts why Rossi will regain. He help developed two 990cc machines that were DOMINANT in winning 4 championships and due to misfortunes wasn't able to win a fifth. Nicky won only 3 races and blew a 51 point lead. Now tell me you prediction. If it isn't Rossi, I would put my money on Dani or Marco, based on talet that is.... but remember, new bike for 07, and Rossi has proved that he can make a machine do the impossible based on his talent.

In 1990, the year of Rainey's first title, he won 7 GPs. However, in 1993, his last title year, he only won 3.

In 1984, lawson's first 500cc title, he won 4 GPs. Not a staggering number, I know.

Mamola never won a premiere-class title.

In 2001, his first title year, Rossi won 11 races...I think.

I'm not counting Nicky out of next year's fight. I'm just saying that he rode well this year, yet he didn't set the world on fire. Who knows, maybe his clutch (no pun intended) performance at Valencia lit a fire in him that will grow, turning him into another Rainey or Lawson. Remember, I said that Nicky hasn't shown he is another Rainey or Lawson...yet.

Nice roger-m,

Yes, definitely wins; but I was referring to "qualities" (mental strength character, ability to come back from adversity, and such). I ask this because so much is made about him lacking what it takes to be a champ.

You make a great point, no matter what Jumkie thinks about you, you're all right by me. BTW: I’m still cracking up about that “he’s not programmed to” thing you said.

It's a no for me, I think Rossi will win it back again, and theirs plenty of other riders out their worthy of the title, like Colin!

This abbreviation, among many many others, comes from the growth of the internet and the instantaneous communication it facilitates.

(I hope I don't sound condescending, I just didn't know if instant messenger shorthand like "jk" was very common outside of the US. I've found that the diversity of this forum can make things tricky.)

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (krazy91 @ Nov 2 2006, 12:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>vote your answer and maybe a reason why you voted that way?

ptk50, this is not "Rossi-Worship" anybody who followed the season can see what happened - Rossi lost the title (for a whole number of reasons, one of the major ones being his own mistakes in the last race, but he was not to blame for the 3 dnf's) Hayden won all of 2 races and was "consistent" that's sort of like girls being interseting or having "nice eyes" Hayden is a good rider, but not World Champion material and he simply benefitted from Rossi's and others' bad luck - Capirossi was well positioned until Gibernau put him out. The World Championship used to be decided on different metrics; highest number of 1st places combined with podium places. That way exceptional performance and not mediocrity are rewarded. We'll know next year, but my bet is if the World Champion 2007 is not Rossi, it certainly won't be Nicky Hayden

Colin Edwards doesn't deserve anything, especially if he keeps up with his Valentino ...-kissing attitude. He has no ambition, and someone with no ambition doesn't deserve to be on the most competitive motorbike racing grid in the world.
They've taken the clip off YouTube (someone copied it from motogp.com and they get pissy about such stuff apparently) but it was really pathetic.

You forgot one other option Krazy and that is....

Don't know, no idea etc...

I will class myself in that group, as I too think next year will be a lottery on who will win.
