Casey is superb for taking his 7th concecutive pole this year. Will he grabs the rest? Even as a Rossi's fan, I would say yes. His pace in every sessions is insane. Unless the others (in this case Rossi) can find overnight speed improvement, Casey is 90% the race winner. So back to the topic, IMO he's definetely the hot favorite for the rest pole position. Who knows maybe he can equal or even beat Doohan's record (12th in a row). Well done Casey !

Casey was only running short sequences through the 3 x FP sessions. His longest was about 5 laps whilst others (e.g Lorenzo who did a 14 laps sequence) were running longer race simulations. He is good for pole at the moment and I don't think there is a faster person on a motorcycle alive but I think he will struggle in the race with that wrist.

12 in a row is not out of the question on his current form and next years bike is apparently frightfully quick as well...

I'm saying no, just for the fact that the odds are way in my favour. He may well do it, but if I was betting on it , I'd bet against.

I hope he won't, 'coz I expect Rossi to win every race.

Unfortunately I think you may be right. The description I read of the radiological findings also suggests to me that he may have a problem likely to be ongoing with the bone rather than a simple fracture which will heal.

My conjecture is that pedrosa also had a scaphoid fracture; they gave very specific information about his other injuries but said only that he had a wrist fracture which had been pinned with regard to his wrist injury.

i reckon after this race he will go and have surgery on his wrist and have to sit a race or 2 out while it heals.
i also think history will remember casey loosing out to a consecutive title because of his wrist and forget about the 50 point defect before that problem.

Wouldn't be the first guy to use a bit of "post hoc" in explaining away a championship loss

I’d bet he’ll keep going

Perhaps not if rossi wins titles 7 and 8 in 2009 and 2010

quoted from Casey post race

"As for the injury, it´s huge disappointment this problem came out but I´ll have to wait until the end of the season for an operation."

I'd hate to think he's just going to ride around for nothing or worse crash again but Dani is closing on second and he should be able to salvage that much from this year - plus he needs to make more than four wins so he can be the only premier class rider to win more than 4 races against Vale (twice).

i must admit i didn't realize theres only 2 points between dani and casey now. casey may want to wait until the end of the season but thats face it, casey has not gone race distance with that wrist yet so i suppose only time will tell.

I'm gonna disagree here Rog, history will remember Vale as the guy with the most race wins and titles. Casey will be remembered as a guy who couldn't defend his title. There have been plenty of them, (one hit wonders) and he may well win another title, but, he is not going to retire with a record like Rossi, so, I dont think folks will remember the injury as the reason that Rossi came back.
