Yep, rider of the year. For me, nobody did more with what they were given across the entire season than he did. Give somebody a factory bike and they should do gray things over the season. It is a bigger mystery Dani finished as low as he did than Marquez finishing as high.
Maybe that one win will assure his future. I certainly hope so, I am a fan and always thought he was better than Marquez Junior in moto 3, and I am sure his team would trade all the dnfs for the win as well.
I hope he is a future rider of the year although a guy called Marc Marquez might make that difficult. I certainly think he or Crutchlow (for the dry win) had the ride of the year, but he threw his bike down the road too much, due to what seemed like errors of judgement on several occasions to be the rider of the year for me.
