who's on which Honda?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ooost @ May 23 2006, 04:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Nicky is apparently running pieces that HRC is looking at putting into the 800cc machine, so I can see how some of them got confused about the model year, but it is still the 2006 'Evo' or 'Lab' bike. Pedrosa is still on a works 2005 spec bike with trickle down parts developed from Nicky's machine. Melandri is also on a 2005 bike with factory support and Tamada, Elias and Stoner are all on customer 2005 bikes. There is no such thing as a 2007 RC211V, you can tell your friends at RPM that I said it.

I'll translate a part of the interview with Suguru Kanazawa in this week's motociclismo:

Q: Is Hayden's bike the basis for the 2007 800cc?
SK: No, some parts like the lower part of the engine and the electronics maybe, but the rest of the bike will be completely different"

I think that Rossi should go back to Repsol Honda, they're looking very strong this year and I wouldn't be suprised if he did go. He would certainly of wanted to last weekend.

He'll never go back to Honda. Winning is expected, dominance is desired and nothing less is failure. In his book, Rossi said he hated that environment. That's why he left Honda, declined Ducati and signed for Yamaha. Realistically, he'll be a Yamaha man for the rest of his career barring possibly one go 'round with Ducati in his later years.

Just started reading the book myself, I think you can tell from early on he's never going back to Honda and very unlikely to go to Ducati. Good read so far Ooost.

Doesn't surprise me you can't read, only kidding bud.

Yeah Skid it is a pretty good read. Only for his insight, it's horribly written and terribly organized but I was very interested to heard what Valentino had to say about different stages in his career and what his childhood was like.

That's bloody aussies mate, thick as ....
<
joking of course.

Yeah the book is really written poorly but as you say you get a good idea from the start what way the guy thinks which makes up for it. I guess it would have been too obvious to get someone like Michael Scott to write it but he did a real good job of Doohan's and Rainey's. I haven't got to the childhood part yet I only just got into it a couple of days ago. I'd say from reading it that Rossi's got 2007 all worked out and probably has had for a while. Richo you'll like it, as would all you guys.

<
sorry to butt in guys ..... but which book and author are you's talkin bout?

Hey Katt, the Rossi biography.

ah
<
... ta Skid.

I havent had a chance to read it yet ...

I read another book on Rossi, written a couple of years back, by Mat Oxley if i remember correctly. Really well written ... Micheal Scott's a good writer too .... really knows his .....

Don Cox aint bad either .... he wrote a book called "The Aussies and the Nz Bloke" which is meant to be a good read ... its sitting in my bedroom i just haven't had much time aye.

I just looked at the Doohan Book, Oxley wrote that one too, my bad. I Just assumed that Scott wrote that one. Both good writers. I'm learning joined-up at the minute
<

Michael Scott does know his ...., but if you look at his predictions for this season that he wrote earlier this year, not many have really come true. Rossi being the favourite, Pedrosa not winning any races, that sorta stuff. Then again, this hasn`t been the most predictable season ever.
