I hear ya, Bro!

The Siren Song, "BOOOOOST!!!!!!" echoes in my dreams anytime I've been working on the bike.

I don't have unlimited $ to throw at it. Besides, after ....... around for nearly a year, I just want to get the damn thing on the road!

The stock turbo can't deliver much more than ~135+ rear wheel HP, so big Wiesco's 815cc kit won't really help right now. Later, when/if I upgrade the turbo, changing the pistons will also allow me to blow more than ~15PSI, which is the detonation limit for the stock bike/pistons. (The intercooler might allow a few more pounds.)

Surprisingly, the stock crank and block are hunky-dory way past 200HP. Apart from clutch springs, there's nothing beneath the base gasket that needs fixing until you're in the 250+ range. They really built this thing!

I'll be putting around at "Stage 2" from 750turbo.com for the foreseeable future. (Or until I win the lottery!)

What octane petrol can you easily buy where you live. The best i can get is 99ron. With that im ok with 1.3 1.4 bar but i do have an intercooler with ic water spray. Probably get more if i fitted a front mount ic. What type of crank do you have, is it a built up (roller bearing) or a cast crank? kwack con rods are normally very good. A set of good cyclinder studs is not to expensive and worth while. Something like APE chrome moly. Also i found the cometric head gaskets very good.

What do you now about octane boosters? Do any of them really do a dang thing? I haven't looked at the gas situation, and am not planning to run anything more exotic than 92 Premium day in and day out. When I wind up on a dyno and/or track day, I'll probably want something a little more robust. I'd want to be able to crank the boost controller to allow as much as the turbo can deliver.

The crank runs plain bearings, is one piece, and is, I think, forged. There are no press-fit pieces to spin, as found on the old Zooks of the era. I've never heard of con-rod problems with a relatively mild hop-up - as you say, they're tough critters.

How is your intercooler set up? If it's not in the front radiator area, where is it located?

Maybe a hood scoop?

Yeah i have a Top mount inter cooler hence the bonnet scoop. There quite large on the newage scoobs and i believe in normal road conditions work better that front mount. You can squeeze more bhp with a front mount tho.

I dont know if your octane rating is different from ours but if its 92 ron it will det its tits off. Mine need's 98 or higher.

I use Millers octane booster and it works, Millers cvl turbo which can raise the octane number by 4 points.

We use a crazy 'AKI' octane rating that is the average of the RON and MON values. In general, AKI + ~5 = RON, our 92 is your 97 or so. I can always turn the boost down, but that's no fun! Running an air cooled motor in Aridzona in the summer, I may need to add octane booster to every tank. I'm sure I'll have to fart around with it...

Thanks for the Millers report. I don't see any on Fleabay, so it may not be available over here. Gotta ask around and see what's what.

Just body work and some controls. Bad part had frame sliders was to lazy to put theme on last minute. That thought me a lesson about being lazy.

I worked in a motorcycle main dealers and i wrote off several bikes due to frames sliders / bobbins. quite often they were the cause of the frame being bent on impact. Save the plastic and bend the frame !

This is one of my toys. Nothing fancy. Just an old Weslake speedway single for power. But its a lot of fun.

Thats looks like a real wild ride. Im impressed mate. A real Burt Monroe in the making

Thanks. Its a hoot to ride. Not very fast but it has the 500 pushrod sidecar gas and fuel records at Bonneville and El Mirage. Its entirely home made and yes, I'm starting to feel a bit Burt Munroish. But its too much fun to stop!

Sorry put up the wrong photo. This is my other machine. Equally fun to ride.

My stress relief. 2006 CBR600RR over 70,000 kms on it, owned from new.

DNA racing filter, Power CommanderIIII, Injectors, Moriwaki 4-1-2 full titanium exhaust system, Valter Moto fender eliminator, Integrated rear brake / indicators.

A very quick street 600.

I've had several two, three and four wheels. Currently I have a 2008 HD XL1200N going through a full transformation into a cafe while I'm deployed to Afghanistan.

Good looking bike. I'm digging the gold.

The black XR1200 looks too cool for words.

Not going to post pictures for safety purposes but I currently have a nice black 2007 Honda CRF250...which is a bitch to me and has had to have new head 3 times in one racing season and the engine has now blown up...big job too! Before that I had my lovely 2005 YZ 125...which we ended up making so fast and very enjoyable to ride. My first bike was a 1998 Kawaaki KX125...with the purple seat and bits

I have two, neither of them in a roadworthy state at the moment. One has been in the family for about 15 years and is not getting any better, needs some work to get back on the road. The other is my winter 'project' and is in pieces all over the garage. Neither bike is impressive or worth any money
