Pov will not be please. The tenacious West found a ride for this year. The poor dumb ......., doesn't he know chasing a dream and doing what you love is irresponsible?

Good for him, as long as he isnt selling his ...., and is drawing a check.. It is a little ironic that you, a labor union zealot, would advise a guy to work for free, while i, an anti union zealot, would never advise anyone to work for free. HMMMMM. The cosmos is funny isnt it

Good to see he didn't have to sell lock stock and barrel to get the ride too. Good for him

While I was going to school, I went days without food, lived in odd places, and spent every dime on tuition, books, and materials. I sold what little possessions I had accumulated and money I had saved while in the military and spent 6 years practically homeless to get a degree and certifications. I also had to work for free while paying for the privilege, on top of paying for the college units that certified I was working for free in the form of college credit (did you know this is required in some professions). I accumulated loans that I'm still paying for now and endured many sleepless nights getting academic work done while trying to survive. The thought did occur to quit in some dark moments, but I had people encouraging me to stay the course. Perhaps the email that I sent West was one of many he got which lifted his spirits to resist the human urges while discouraged. Read his comments in the press release.

I did all this to risk (there is no guarantee I would get such a job) getting hired in a professional setting some day doing something that I thought was interesting and rewarding. That sacrifice paid off, even though there are people trying to devalue it today. West is chasing that dream of being paid and competing at the highest levels of professional roadracing. It takes sacrifice and willingness to stay the course. Not only does it mean one will have to do it for free, but also pay for it out of one's pocket sometimes. The press lease says he will be drawing a check while racing for one of the most professional racing bodies in the world. Had he quit last month when you were calling for him to immediately throw in the towel, he would not have had this opportunity today! That's all we need to know about your philosophy for life. Maybe he could have become some boat salesman some where and got fat while sitting around chastising others for being tenacious at chasing one's dreams, eh?

Chasing a dream of becoming a high paid Moto Gp star has a cut off date. You can chase the dream of becoming a teacher, or whatever for most of your life.I never said he should quit racing. As a matter of fact my exact quote was "Reaching for the brass ring in the corporate world can go on forever, not true in sport, especially bike racing. He can still make a paycheck racing, but he needs to focus on whats realistic, and becoming a GP star is not realistic.Like i said before, the best thing that ever happened to him was losing that ride, and i was right. Now he has a ride and a check
