FUUUUUUUUUCK! This was one of the brightest most exciting parts of the racing last year. Daaaammn. Totally sux for their best and most promising US rider which is Benny Solis. So the more important question is, where will Benny Solis end up, the US Rookies Cup CHAMPION!

Benny was the champ but Gillem was the man the last half of the season and in particular, was running away and hiding from everybody [Europeans} at Indy till the rains came. They say he was the Buzz in the GP paddock.Benny is bad ... also, maybe they can both go.

Don't panic! That sounds like they've just cut two races, not the whole series, however that could be because they have a contract with dorna that they can't get out off.

Dorna are going to suck every penny they possibly can out of this, they must know their days are numbered, (2 years tops)

Sweety, the press release says they terminated the entire US Rookies cup. That's me here in the States. Seriously, if any of you can catch a few races on Youtube of last year's Laguna Rookies cup, you will se that the cup had the best, bar none, racing of any series in 08. Ask Roger to recall the finish to you.

Was it better than this one.Gillim running second on last turn

Alton, Virginia (August 17, 2008) — Hayden Gillim of Owensboro, Ky., won the Virginia International Raceway Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup race on Sunday, taking a narrow victory in a race featuring a four-rider pack fighting for the win. Gillim’s margin of victory was a slim 0.091 seconds, falling in with the other highly competitive Rookies Cup contests of 2008. Benny Solis, Jr., of North Hollywood, California led on the final lap but could not hold off Gillim’s move exiting the final turn. Bryce Prince of Bakersfield, Calif., bested Emerson Connor for the final podium position

That was an eternity compared to the finish at Laguna.

(that is 113+ times a smaller margin of victory)

Dont they have the spanish cev series as well. This sucks for all the Wetern hemisphere kids because the red bull us rookies cup was a very good way into elite level racing. Last year there were kids from all over the place in the us cup not just american. Luckily hayden and Benny made it to europe just in time

Hmmmm, there's gonna be a whack of used 250 GP bikes on the market out there soon... Any entrepreneurs want to start a new feeder series?

Shut up whiner and go to the actual races. Rookie cup are hardly shown anywhere. The standard MotoGP crew seldom produce it.
At Assen last year the rookie race was the highlight of the weekend, well that and the beer.

Although I agree with your sentiments (.... me, living in a flyover state), I have to ask. Hamburger Helper in your milk this morning?
