In Rossi’s case it’s ego. He is terrified of becoming irrelevant .
Any other rider (Hayden is a prime example) would have had a few years max on a privateer bike then been kicked out to the weeds/WSBK. Hayden was a world champion and never got a lifeline back to a competitive factory bike like Rossi has.
That's just idle and ignorant fans calling for him to bdropped. Nakamoto and Suppo, who are clever chaps, always renewed his contract because he's the best rider available for that seat.True, but every year the rumour mill goes into overdrive that Pedrosa should be dropped because he 'Only' wins a race or two a year. He does the perfect job for Honda, winning when Marquez doesn't and getting points for the teams championship.
Watch this!

The only reason the same doesn't happen with Rossi, is because of his marketing value. The same reason he was drafted back to Yamaha (remember, Yamaha RACING didn't want him, it was Yamaha MARKETING that did.)
Sorry don't agree it was the ....... who run MotoGP that did.
Sad isn't it, but he's not done anything since has he,only the on track angry antics. But then Yamahahaha have only 1 championship in 5 years and it wasn't Rossi. I think they're mugs for listening to marketing. Unless caramel was leaning on the weak link.
I think he is irrelevant, he'll never win again as a rider (Championship), imo he's an old version of Pedro.

I guess they'd rather sell t shirts than win Motogp championships
