Yep, he sure did! A happy Lorenzo is a dangerous Lorenzo. A bit too early to predict. But if the 2019 championship comes down to 93 & 99. The fire works will be unbelievable.

omg I so hope so!!! I'm trying to work but I also have live timing open and the live video feed. It's not easy!!

Commentator's already have him pegged as potentially upsetting the honda team harmony - "has lorenzo ever had a team mate he got on with..." ffs!!

Those two seems to have an interesting way of dealing with each other. After Aragon, Lorenzo openly blames Marc. Marc says nothing publicly. He in turn calls Lorenzo privately. Lorenzo publicly says they spoke privately and all is good. I seems to remember this trend from past problems between them. Marc is not going to get into a public pissing contest like Dovi & rossi. Well be interesting to see how they get along.

One thing to add, HRC is serious about Lorenzo being competitive. They actually made him a Ducati style fuel tank of his liking on his debut. That is a sure sign of commitment.

That's reassuring. According to some, HRC will do nothing to help Lorenzo. They already have their super champ and they only have Lorenzo so that he's not their competition.

Well, he doesn't seem that happy. The reason remains to be seen.

You do realized that he is still in pain from that last accident?? After his very first run which was less than 10 laps he came in with a smile. He did a total of 30 laps today. Those photos would be towards the back end of the 30 laps. Safe to say discomfort from the injury is setting in.

Thank you Evo, he is still recovering !! glad he got round on Sunday in one piece !!!!!

Would have preferred to see him immediately fast but I guess he wasn’t that fast on the Ducati with the injury on the race weekend either.

Tests are made to test :D not to chase fast lap timings.

Believe me, he'll be A-ok on the RCV ;)

As an Italian but more importantly as a fan of young guns I am beyond stoked for how both Bagnaia and Morbidelli looked on their new bikes.

Times, in a test session, have a relatively low importance but still, theirs were rather good.

Today will tell us more ;)

Yes, I read an article the other day concerning the up and coming riders including riders much younger than the two you mention being more Italian than Spanish these days and attributing this significantly to Valentino, probably correctly so.

I guess Puig who was likely very important in regard to the Spanish talent of the last decade is otherwise occupied now as well.

I have to admit that what he is doing with his academy is absolutely amazing. With Morbidelli and Bagnaia both clinching a Moto2 title we started seeing the results, but that's only the top of the iceberg.

Our federation has never done anything to help the youngsters (not even the most promising ones) and that's crazy considering how popular the sport is over here.

VR46 (referring to the company, not to Rossi) is acting like a federation but also handling their marketing perfectly.

VR46 Academy's riders get to train with Rossi daily, on the best tracks of the country, at dirt track, at the gym, they get english lessons, a diet program, they get taught how to behave in front of the media and how to handle themselves in their relationships with sponsors.

These services/supports do not come for free of course, but whatever's the cost they are worth it IMHO.

Rossi is building Italy's future in the sport and for this (ONLY for this tho :D ) I really, really am a fan of his.

Agreed. Valentino is paying it forward.

Paolo Simoncelli (Marco Simoncelli's father) is also doing a great work and is building up a similar (yet much smaller) organization.

But Valentino is the only one who is doing it specifically and exclusively for Italian riders.

I don't believe Lorenzo's wrist is aching as much as he's saying, I have just watched an onboard video of him riding the RCV yesterday and he is pushing hard. It seems to me that he wouldn't want to put at risk another fall in a damp track on Sunday and terminate his first and much important test with Honda. It was just an excuse for Ducati.

Nobody can lap as much as he did since Friday with pain in the wrist.

Nonsense.

Nonsense.

I can understand your fanboy frustration but I severely doubt Lorenzo will tame the RCV as fast as he did with the Desmo. Actually his success will depend on Honda providing him a much more stable and smoother bike, which, in turn, will need a bigger and taller bike, not the toy the current version is. This would be a radical overturn for Honda, I don't think they will do it anytime soon. This version of RCV I particularly don't believe he can ever like it. I have seen many people talking about corner speed but that isn't the point he needs from this piece of metal (if he learned to ride the Ducati, then he can ride any other bike on the grid in the center of the curve), the bike is over reactive for his style because is short and tiny, and therefore transmits all the motion reaction directly to his body/arms with less filtering than Yamaha or Ducati. That goes in direct encounter with his needs, letting him horribly insecure over the saddle.

Forget any .... about pain, himself told media during weekend that on Sunday his wrist was much better and that he was expecting it to be even better on Tuesday.

Absolute rubbish!

When you present your medical degree your statement might carry some weight. Until then it's pure speculation with absolutely zero support behind it.
