Funny you mention KR when he's doing rally's for 2010...

1) Alonso
2) Hamilton
3) Vettel
4) Button
5) Raikkonen

tbh, it's so hard to choose between Hamilton and Alonso, but I gave it to Fernando after I remembered him passing Schumacher round the outside of 130R at Suzuka.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Jan 12 2010, 08:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Which is what exactly? I'd love to see something persuasive about why Senna more than any other driver (except Moss) should be rated miles above his achievements. And 'would have won x many more titles' wont do

Also, as interesting as the poll was it is not the be all and end all of how good F1 drivers are/were, the people voting aren't necessarily objective, did you notice how high Jenson Button was in the list?

True drivers bring their spirit into track. Ayrton Senna was more than a driver, he made F1 magical, skillful, different, and special. He didn't accumulate high numbers, but he did things so skillful, ingeniously and smart that no other driver could do until now.

Even Michael Schumacher, considered by many the number 1, stated Senna as the best.

Who is better than a racer to rate another racer? That's because the poll is completely valid. Only a true racer can rate another racer. If a poll between 217 race drivers rated Senna the #1, it's because he truly is, man.

Anyhow, rating him the #1 or #2, it's OK, it's only a matter of opinion, but rate him #5 or less, contradicting most of living F1 race drivers (including the supposed #1, Schumi) is a joke. Serious.
