Isn't this mess also on Capirossi?  He's the tire safety dude, and it's also his his job to avert these situations.

Should bear the burden as much as anyone. Its his only job, one i always felt was created to  keep a popular figure in the sport.

No it's not. I don't pretend to know all his duties but he was with Charlie cox last race and he said part of his job is track inspection. This includes looking for damage, sweeping away marbles ect. If even showed the "special" broom they have to use.

I can't agree with this any stronger - I watched him down at Siberia and I reckon you could have put a 20c coin on his racing line and he would have hit it every time.  It's seriously mind bending how consistent he is, and fast on top of that too.

Hey..... are you a girl?  Your profile says female.  wink wink

Big shout out for Ana Carrasco. 7th in quali, Good girl.

I just saw that as well.  If she reproduces that in the race all the commentators will be tossing it off like there's no tomorrow.

Jumkie is walking around with stained undies as we speak.

I have been trying to watch her lately during the races. Not easy when the TV cameras only follow the leading pack. But what i have seen of her she looks an intelligent creative rider. Not scared to pass and re-pass using different lines. She has a nice style and good race craft. I notice Ana has been hanging around Katja Poensgen lately. I bet Katja is giving her a few pointers. Girl power and all that.

Garbin, sod the commentators. I will be tossing off if she got that result.

The sponsors need to start writing their name backwards.

I'm actually a little disappointed I will inevitably find out the result before I get to watch the race as I'll be on the road when it's on. But then, missing a bike race on TV to watch a bike race live has to be an acceptable compromise.

The mandatory pitstops will be interesting. Although in some ways it effectively makes the first part of the race irrelevant as the gap between 1st-3rd is usually all within a second so that advantage can easily be lost in the pits. Still I guess it's the same for everybody.

The main thing is, the performance today was downright impressive for any rookie, male or female.

Exactly correct Tom. I have always kept an eye out on the female riders and see no reason what so ever why they can't compete. There not after a womans series, they just want to race like the boys, with the boys. I have know doubt they face prejudice and have to work especially hard to get a shot. That alone earns my respect. Ana today showed she has every right to line up on that grid tomorrow.

What?  Women actually have it easier just because.  Sponsors would love to get their names on a female rider!!  While I, would like to get my hands on them!

I've always wanted to ride with a chick, me in the back!  That's hott!!!!!!!

Sponsorship are not interested because the appeal of a female racer in comparison is tiny. The female angle for that is non existent and would only become interesting to the masses once they started winning .

I once was a mechanic for a bike race team and one of the riders was female (a right .....). Anyway, in the bar in the evening the men racers, mechanics ect would sit about drinking a few pints and talking racing, like who's fast ect. She was excluded from any such boys club talk like a social leper. The only blokes that came over to talk to her where not talking racing but more trying to get in her knickers. Maybe its easier in the higher level than what i was in but they still have to get there.

Pic of the racer chick or you just BS'n as usual!  You ......!

Bridgestone? Cementing their place as the worst sole tyre supplier in professional Motorsport. In contrast to 2007 when various circuits were re-surfaced including fly aways like Laguna, they spent oddles of time and money then.....I really do fear for the future of this sport if we end up with 20L, 5 engines and Bridgestone next year.

Which is .... because we have a really good group of riders and it would be nice to see a fairer playing field.

Looking good for today for Jorge, the one plus in the pit stop could be fuel, anyone got the low down on what happens with the limit?
