LOL AT LORENZO RIDING AROUND WITH A DEAD SEAGULL IN HIS FAIRINGS! He's actually dragging the seagull every time he leans over to the right!

It's a warning to Marquez..."there will be blood"

Rossi looking semi-useful for once.  Barely missed punting Pedro out of third.

Did Jorge hit a gull? Ha. I've hit a gull here, matey hit it first then it bounced off my fairing.

It clearly targeted Jorge. Fast thinking on his part avoided making it a helmet accessory, but there's no doubt in my mind Ezpeleta has had a cadre of trainers working in secret across the Bass Strait, preparing for just this event.

Remote control birdies.

Jorge looked mindbending through and out of MG. So clean, too.

Sensational time from Lorenzo .............. the metrognome (deliberate spell there) does it again. The guy is so damn smooth, consistent and persistent that sooner or later he will need testing to ensuret hat he truly is a human, prone to make errors as to date. All up, mega impressive.

Marquez to me ist he polcar opposite in terms of style, and what a style, he looks ragged but all balls and wrings the neck then manhandles the beast in such a way it is brilliant. His time was sensational, but he was beaten (almost smashed one could say) by Lorenzo who was on a mission, but the real test is tomorrow.

Of the rest I suspect that Rossi will manage a good race pace and he looks somewhat comfortable for the third podium spot where Pedrosa to me looked quite uncomfortable, but this is a circuit that has over the years been unkind. Cal and the rest will be spectators to the battle up front as they maintain their own battles but I am with the comments by Rossi post race and expect a good battle with these guys.

Let us hope however that the tyres do not destroy what could be a race, or even worse, a championship

Now, that all said, wonder if we will see penalty points or worse out of Q2?

It's awesome to watch how different Lorenzo and Marquez' style is and yet both be so fast. Lorenzo was perfect, he's not going down without a fight. And Marquez has the bike so loose with the front then rear sliding all over the shop.

Fricken laughed at Nick Harris "well that is horrendous news for the seagull" as they replay a slow-mo of it meeting the M1 beak first.

Well we're into new territory for the race tommorow. A dry flag to flag race with a pitstop to swap bikes due to the risks about the tyres.

- Race shortened from 27 to 26 laps.

- You must change to a bike with fresh tyres.

- You can't do more than 14 laps on a rear slick (so stops between laps 12 to 14 unless you want to stop again).

So I guess we get to see what MotoGP would look like without a fuel limit. Exactly the same would be my bet.
