As people here know, I am no fan but thought these interesting and will openly admit that I preferred part 2 given the rider commentary

Part 1:

Part 2:

Some good comments on fellow riders and as an Aussie, loved the comments about Gobert and interesting take on Stoner.
Also interesting to watch his obvious distress with Simoncelli but also you can see it with nicky as well

Part 2 was good. Seems more like his old self having regained his sense of humour, concerning which I find it within myself to be pleased.

Part 2 was interesting.

Much as I dislike Rossi, I have not seen him that relaxed/natural probably since he was 29 or 30 years old.

Difficult to watch his reaction when he talked about Simoncelli. I think that was highly traumatic for him since he was involved directly in that crash. I don't know if I could have gotten back on a bike after that.

Ot a fan any longer but he seemed quite charming and relaxed. Interesting and seemingly frank complimentary comments about Stoner, Lorenzo and Marquez. Then again, he pretty much had to go in that direction. To quote Senna yet again, “the results speak for themselves.”

The charm and his own results are what garnered him the fanbase in the first place.

I will be supporting teams and riders on teams other than his, but it is good to see him not being bitter as he seems to have been in most interviews for a number of years as has been said, and perhaps he is moving forward now, which is again good given he is a rather major part of gp bike racing history.

I will get around to watching this but I would say taking the decision to retire, having a kid on the way and having no pressure to win or get results just enjoy his last season has taken some pressure off of him. He is probably in a lot better place now and from what everyone on here is saying, that's coming through in his interview.

I just find it unfortunate that it took the final stages of his career to give this sort of interview. How genuine it was? Who really knows because we know he has a long memory for transgressions or supposed transgressions against him. It's actually disappointing that it took till now on that large of a broadcast stage to say some good things about Casey. At the same time it doesn't undo that he never apologized for the vitriol that he helped foster towards Casey. Though I suppose in the end does it really matter any longer? His career is going to be whitewashed entirely and the unsportsmanlike behavior will entirely be forgotten or only remembered on niche places such as here.

He is a dirt bag. He is just saying the things he thinks we want to hear. Two things stand out for me. "I don't deserve a teammate like Jorge for what I do for yamaha. " What a joke. We already knew you felt this way by the giant wall he built. He seems to like to help riders until they join gp and become faster than him then he uses psychological warfare on them. Iononne was his friend until they battled then he start treating him different and making ...... comments about him.

Lets take a look at some of his main competitors through out the years.
Max Biaggi. Rossi did a victory lap with a blow up doll with Max's girlfriends name on it.
Sete Gib. He blew a hole in Sete's ankle in the final corner at Jerez.
Casey Stoner. We all know how that went. There was no love between those two.
Jorge Lorenzo. As mentioned from day 1 he had a wall built between the two pits. I guess he wanted another Colin Edwards, someone he could beat regularly and would kiss his ass. Jorge went in with number 48 and really looking up to Rossi. It didn't take long for Jorge to see Rossi for who he really is.
Marc Marquez. Do I need to say anything other than the sepang kick. He will never own up to what he did there and neither will his fans. There is no debate as to what went down and will always be the moment anyone not blinded by the yellow stain well have seen Rossi for who he is. And this is to my the second thing he said in this video. His comments toward Marc were pathetic. He is still holding a grudge when he is not the victim here. It will take another 20 to 30 years to what? .... you Rossi. Your legacy is tarnished and looking back the entire thing is nothing but garbage. Your attitude is fake and pathetic and anyone who falls for it has been con'ed by an ....... con artist.

Great post Dub, glad to see you around again. :)

Spot on! I agree 110%. He should run for office in Italy, he has all the qualities of a modern day politician.

I've been good. I have become a full time single father of a 3 year old. So I am always busy.

Mate, you could have left it at 'full time single father of a 3 year old', as with kids that age busy is an understatement, but no doubt man you will be rocking it.

Don't disagree with any of that except to say that part 2 to me there were flashes of a lessening of the usual show we see.

As an Aussie, while I enjoyed the Stoner comments I more enjoyed the partying with Gobert comments (have heard stories a few times and the comments he made align)
