No testing - the bike was only fired up on Thursday, fourth in Race 1 and first place in race 2 for GSE/Camier. You can tell he's from just down the road, and you can tell that the data shared from Spies and Sykes at Yamaha Italia was invaluable.
Shame that Easton ailed towards the end of the race. The pundits were making comparisons with Hizzy, which I thought was a bit over the top. The only thing to my mind in common between the two (apart from being Scots), is the fact that like the late great Hislop, I've always had the impression when the bike is set up right Easton is clearly very, very quick. Watching him again this weekend though, his style is, and lines are admittedly remarkably reminiscent of Steve's - in fact it's uncanny.
Congrats to Plater, one of the hardest working guys in motorcycle racing. He's literally straight off to catch the ferry to France to compete at Le Mans in the first race of the Endurance season having just ridden in two superbike races, and a supersport race. I don't think he'll be permanently seconded into the Superbike team, because they'll sort out Brookes's visa. But apart from the Supersport championship, he'll compete in all the major road racing events from The NW200 to The Island, and the Ulster GP. He also does a shitload for Riders For Health at the Day of Champions - Top Bloke.
