The 2013 MotoGP Torpedo Award goes to!!!

I used to defend Bautista but his riding this year is average given his bike and that crash was amateur hour.

I enjoyed the back and forth silent debate via the tv screens in the pit lane.

Must be scary as hell knowing you, another rider and two bikes are going into the wall at that speed. Bit surprised about only having haybales there. Unusual crash but not totally unlikely to happen, especially in a big pack like Moto2.

I have only watched the incident live but from memory and my impression at the time, which may be incorrect, the accident happen before the right hand corner but during the transition from the left hand corner towards the right.

As far as I am concerned if you place yourself on the outside then you take what you get. To answer Jumkie, if Stoner was caught on the outside and got taken out then same applies. You take what you get. There is a reason why you protect the inside.

I am not saying that Bautista is not a ..... His hairstyle says to me "BIG ........". What I am saying is that because it was Rossi no matter what it was the other riders fault. The boppers are dying to find something to hate on. With Stoner gone and Rossi not winning they are lost. There is no one to hate and no silly clown shows so I expect them to grab on to this with both hands and go with it.

  I actually like his pretty hair style bro.

Nah man, on this one it really was Bautista's fault.  VR was on the inside dude.  totally correct trajectory to make the turn as normal as can be.  Alvaro came from the outside and bombed on VR.  I'm not taking Rossi's side because I obviously love him so much, he was just really taken out.  Oh, as as far as who would have been able to see who (given no rear view mirrors) Bautista would have to have serious tunnel vision not to have seen Valentino.  I wanted it again, and actually I think Innone may have caused a bit of the chain reaction.

I'll take your word for it and lay my apology out there for understanding the incident incorrectly.

Let me say, I know we often go overboard in assigning blame.  Personally, its always been a pet peeve of mine to call everything that happens on the track a "racing incident".  But even though I would assign blame to Alvaro on this one, it was really more human error and the tiny reaction time these guys must manage into the first turns of a race.  Most often they get through it without incident, but they are human after all.  I know I got ape .... overboard on criticizing riders for minor mistakes, but I don't hold any real animosity for them.  I hope you really know this as I believe you do and share this sentiment.  I'm a .... talker, thats my shtick.

First of all, thank god they are both ok because that crash looked nasty.

Alvaro is at fault here.  Rossi had the inside line, and literally got crashed into.

So basically what jumkie said.

I'm really bummed for him bc aside from qualifying he was really lookin good this weekend.

Bautista wants to torpedo VR46 off-track, but can't since Uccio has that on lock down.  The only place Bautista has a chance to torpedo Vale is on-track.

Pretty much racing incident caused by Alvaro vision problems :), glad that both riders are OK though.

I think Alvaro has vision problems.   I honestly do

Put yourself in his helmet. rossi was passing him on the outside of a left hand turn that leads into a right hand turn. How the .... would he have been able to see him?

How do you know so much about "Ooops I crapped my pants"!?

Ahhh nevermind.  I'm wearing them, and I just did.

I agree that Alvaro "the torpedo" Bautista robbed us all (as I think Jum pointed out) of a good race. I didn't wanna see the clown on his little home podium. But being wiped out like that gives the yellow panty brigade more excuses. Pity...

I actually like Alvaro. But I think he needs to be sat down and chilled out. His mistakes are not malicious, but potentially very dangerous.
