Rossi.................no sorry I forgot........that is called passing!

I bet Rossi will be the first one to punt one of the other 3 off the track.  He will be trying to intimidate them in order to help himself bridge the slight speed gap they have on him.

Never count out Bautista. Never.

When the chips are down he's there, taken 'em all out.

In the wet, dry, hail, sleet, don't matter to Alvaro, he'll get the job done.

Marquez will almost definitely spearhead somebody this year.

They penalized him once last year and he won the race from last on the grid... Pedrosa could've won at Misano if Hector Barbera didn't suck at riding a GP bike.

MurderMarc is the obvious choice, but I have to think Andre Iannone could be the dark horse in the battle.  The ducati is just itching to blast some people.  Mix that with his crazy italian blood.  We have a recipe for disaster.

Let's what MM run over anyone in his way.

This video for some reason is disabled when attempted to view from the forum.  But it can be viewed on YouTube.  Knowing Dorna are tighter than a tick's ....... regarding their content, the fact that this is a free video tells me something about the messaging impression to be made on the casual viewer.  Certainly, Marquez is their new marketing golden boy (yeah, I know, most of us already know, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded, as there is a point to be made).  The arrogance!  They show Marquez make a maneuver that could have easily seriously hurt if not ended the career of another rider. This of course was not the first time such dangerous riding had been perpetrated by Marky, as one could at have at that point made the case he was a flagrant serial danger to fellow riders, or as Kropo would describe it “fearless”.  And I would in some respect agree, certainly ‘fearing no’ real repercussion.  Nonetheless, the best race direction could muster was to have him start at the back of the grid.  However, is this the theme of that video?  Is the theme crime & punishment?  Dorna content tsars are careful, thoughtful, and meticulously control any video that is disseminated to the public.  What then might be the theme of this video? Perhaps to show how the league can police dangerous riding?  It seems more like an afterthought actually, a simple pesky occurrence to highlight the real message by featuring Marky’s start from the back.  I've seen this video before, but watching it again I'm boggled by how some in their right mind could surmise that there is not some shenanigan at play here.  The launch of that bike off the line in stark contrast to the others is in a word: unbelievable.   It’s ‘unbelievable’ because it should be unbelievable, that is in a supposed ‘spec’ series.  That team may have not been caught cheating because they were simply not caught.

It's pretty unbelievable that Marquez accelerated nearly twice as fast as the rest of the field for the first few corners.... As if he's on a RCV213

Jum, Agree with a lot of the ill-considered and commercially driven glorification you point out....

BUT.

The launch?

Have a look at the guy on the other side of the last row (from the qualifying sheets: Granado on a Motobi. Top ranked rider on a top spec bike right there) in the yellow helmet. He matches Marquez up till they come into traffic, where Mr Motobi bottles it and Marquez stays tucked and pinned.

The bit shortly afterwards, where he carves through about 8 bikes? Some of those guys are already sitting up to brake. The other guys are shutting off to avoid those early brakers. Marquez again, is tucked and pinned.

Yes, it does seem like Marquez has a rocket, but even spec bikes make different horsepower between a closed and open throttle.

Surely even you can believe that the last dozen riders on a damp track just mightn't have the balls and talent of those at the pointy end. The rest is superior cornering, guys blocking each other and forcing whole packs off-line.

Rossi boy is he going to be pushing it playing catch up

If the last 2 1/2 days are any indication, Rossi will soon be hitting up Nicky for some of his Hillbilly Prozac...

I know "this is only testing," but he really needs to produce one of JB's Magic ... Rabbits before the end of the day.

Wet track - there are riders who can and can't.

Even that magic soft ware (the throttle off auto gear change with the dilethium crystals) wouldn't have made a lick of difference in the wet.

Also, I have no doubt he was told about the work around for the throttle setting that was within the rules by Dorna "unofficially".

I Marky was born Australian or American he would have started on dirt track and went to at least 1 season of races sleeping in a bike trailer.

He's been kissed on the .... by a fairy Jum, no doubt, but he is a fcuking good rider.

If that was a dry track start I would have my torch and pitchfork

What got him the back of grid penalty was young and stupid exuberance and he should have been punted for the whole race.

if the desmo can get anywhere near the yams/hondas my moneys on iannone.

crazy mofo. afraid he appears to be a bit better than he actually is by taking big risks.not consistent enough to be able to afford to take it easy when things are not right.

2008 mugello straight, part II coming soon...

Yeah I'm with Dubby and Cliche,

I reckon Iannone cold be the first to give a little tickle to send someone off
