Jennie Gow has announced that she will not be part of the BBC's 2011 MotoGP coverage.



Gow replaced long-time BBC motorcycle presenter Suzi Perry for the 2010 season, but wrote on her official Twitter page this (Tuesday) morning:



“Just to let you know I won't be doing MotoGP for the BBC this year. Last season was an amazing experience and I met some great people.



“Working on some exciting new projects so will see you soon. Thank you for your support and friendship!



“Oh and good luck to the 8 Brits competing in motogp, 125 & moto2 this year - will be following you from wherever I am in the world”



Gow worked alongside commentators Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish, plus pitlane reporter Matt Roberts.



The BBC is yet to announce Gow's replacement.

I wasn't a big fan of her columns; each one just seemed to be written from the viewpoint of an adoring fan rather than an insightful commentator.

Thank .... for that...she was utterly useless, and completely out of her depth. I can't watch live Moto GP races anymore since the BBC outbid Eurosport by accident, owing to the marketing decision behind this in '08 to target a mainstream audience. I have to wait until the recorded Eurosport coverage comes on air. My decision I grant you that, but I won't have the already beleaguered sport that love and care about and I have grown up with further compromised, (as if dwindling grids, processional races and a lame emasculated formula isn't enough to contend with), by passionless inane drivel from the likes of Cox and Parish. Jennie Gow epitomised everything that stinks about the asinine airhead BBC coverage of MotoGP. Give the job to Matt Roberts immediately! British Eurosport meanwhile has limited funding, otherwise it would run in parallel and the true devotees to the sport would be still be watching Randy Mamola in the role that he made his own.

Jesus man. I don't know who the hell is this ....., but I already hate her. The ....... ....!

i can't say I'm bothered she's gone. I don't watch BBC 'coverage' and wait for Eurosport to show the races. I don't like the BBC commentators and you're right' it all seems a bit passionless and lacklustre.



I have to keep rememebring to stay away from the internet while I wait for the race as I've managed to spoil it for myself on more than one occasion!

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'm just wondering (because I hear this often from the Brits about their TV commentators) why don't you guys get the Dorna feed with their commentators, who are three excellent Brits (Harris, Emmett, & Wheeler) some of the best I've heard.



Just be thankful you guys aren't hearing any American Speed ch. commentators, you'd be pulling your hair out and cursing at the screen.

I would love to get Harris & Emmet's commentary on the BBC, ain't gonna happen though despite the fact that it would be cheaper!!



Gow was exceptionally bad at live TV, all over the ....... place & could hardly get her words out. Not an interview or piece to camera went by without a stumble.

I hope they get Suzi Perry back so that I can start knocking one out before a GP again, I miss that.

Afuckingmen! They assume that the state of bike racing is so bad here, that anyone watching is a first timer. The broadcast is a ....... tutorial on what is going on. It is maddening.

Was thinking the same thing! Those guys (Harris, Emmett, Wheeler) are fantastic! I hate it every time I'm forced to suffer through SpeedTV coverage and I've got to hear those ........s attempt motorcycle commentary.

The BBC Are fooked there budget has been cut by 16% from the Government

They've cut hundreds of jobs just this week



so i cant see Jenny being replaced ever

they might take Harris Emmett commentary for the whole of there Motogp coverage imo even cocks might go as well leaving Parrish with just a token roll



The BBC Coverage of Motogp wont improve in the next few years then there contract will be up and i cant see another UK Main stream station taking it on

it will be behind the paywall and with Vale gone the viewing figures will crumble to nothing



Jenny wasnt great and it probably shows the strength of the applicants for the job in the first place

Thanks for the welcome. I have no idea why we don't get the official Dorna feed. I don't mind the Eurosport commentators (although Toby Moody does love to talk about F1 as many times as possible), but the ones on BBC just drone on as though they are bored.



I can't imagine what you have to put up with having commentators that act like you are all morons, but when Eurosport have had other commentators, one of them asked the most obvious questions. It was clear he wasn't someone that took much notice of MotoGP

The ONLY reason I ever watched the BBC coverage was because I couldn't stand to wait until the Eurosport recording coverage. Certainly not because of the BBC's quality, which was a total bag of .....

Jenny Gow was useless. Not a chance of ever filling Suzy Perry's slot (ooh-er).

As good as Eurosports coverage is though, there was a couple of times I was glad to switch over, when Julian Ryders Lorenzo arse licking comments just got too much to bare.

The oddest thing is that the BBC coverage of 125 & 250/Moto2 has the Harris, Emmett commentary. & The Beeb holds all of the Moto GP rights, so they could show it in it's entirety if they wanted. The trouble is the choices for interactive are made by fools. With an upgraded tv & an HDMI cable I might be looking at Motogp.com's HD service, despite it's poor record for conectivity.
