<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Austin @ Jan 10 2010, 07:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>How has Lorenzo learned from his mistakes? His results improved tremendously and he proved quicker than last year, but he still pitched it away four times. The same number as his rookie season. And his goal for 2009 was to be more consistent. He got faster, sure, but I don't think he rode any smarter than he did in 2008.
I think his results (other than his DNFs) show that he was more consistent and IMO rode smarter. 2008 Lorenzo would never have managed Catalunya so well - at least he made it to the last corner
2009 : 4 wins, 5 2nds, 4 3rds, 1 4th, 4DNFs
2008 : 1 win, 3 2nds, 2 3rds, 3 4ths, 2 6ths, 1 8th, 1 10th, 4 DNFs, 1 DNS(Inj)
Plus you have to remember the amount of air (and hence damage) he got in his highsides in 2008 was far greater than in 2009. In fact I'm pretty sure that in 2008 all his DNFs were spectacular highsides, which was not the case in 2009.
Lorenzo will be WC at some point IMO.
