Suppo to leave Ducati after Valencia

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ROCKGOD01 @ Nov 7 2009, 07:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>No ....! MCN they are real trustworthy right? I am sure Stoner could care less about his sponsors as long as the checks are coming in. In the article did they give a specific name of a representative, officer of the company, or did they just say marlboro? I might be more inclined to believe it if there is an actual person giving the statments.
Kropotkin: Marlboro Boss - "Stoner Should Apologize"

I'm not sure I'd agree. Based on pure abilities, his contract would likely rival that of Rossi's. However, so much of salary comes from sponsors as well and Stoner doesn't have the marketability of Rossi. I don't think he'll get a deal like Rossi's but I'd bet his new contract will be worth more than anyone else's.

I agree with you. I am not even sure yamaha pay the major part of valentino's current salary.

well he may not be the most paid, purely for the part that he is not from europe or even america, however, if a manuafturer in 2011 wanted stoner rossi or horney, based purely on future potential of winning championships..... pretty sure it would be in that order. but talent doesnt always determine who gets paid the most or even who gets a ride. talmasci cough cough...

If Honda are paying then maybe the top 3. If Ducati are paying then no way.

Look at what Stoner said:

"I've had an excellent relationship with Livio, a lot of people tried to push us apart while I was

away in Australia, nobody understood what was happening, but Livio was there for me the whole

time. We were in regular contact, he was making sure everything was going well and seeing

what he could do for me".

Was that wise what he said? because he still is in Ducati, and those people perhaps are there too, so this maybe opens a can of worms later in his relationships with some people in Ducati.

But i have no doubt that Stoner and Suppo were great friends on and off track. and suppo could work very good with Casey, especially when Stoner wasn't happy after his races.

Now that would be a challange for the next guy who takes the place of suppo.
but Livio was really a good manager, you can see a good manager when they always stay calm and never loos their smile.

That's just PR.
Who was trying to hire Lorenzo then? Nobody could have done it against the will of the MotoGP project manager=Suppo. And make no mistake, Suppo leaves right after Stoner returns and wins. Facts speak louder than words...

...plus, Honda hires Suppo on one side and three Yamaha engineers on the other, all from Lorenzo's team. It wouldn't be a shock if Lorenzo joins them -- the man who wanted him at Ducati, probably bringing sponsors, and those who can set up his new Honda the way he likes. Hmmmm

I like J4rn0's call here - could be setting up for the future (this team could suit the arrival of Jorge OR Casey...).
