i tell ya curve, some of the stuff he comes out with, we must have a motogp crew chief on our forum going under the pseudonym tom.
We haven't even began to discuss the medical responsibility issue so i don't know how you can win anything. Especially when you insist that Loris's fitness should be judged by the team manager rather than doctors or the rider themself.

i agree.

Like i have said before, the medical responsibility debate is a big topic which should probably be covered seperately. In brief though i think the doctors, race direction and the safetey commission should have the ability to stop hurt riders from racing on safetey grounds. Particularly when it comes to head injuries.

Okay, number of team managers who replace their riders when the feel like it: To my knowledge, none in motogp. Help me out if you guys are sure this is standard team managers power

where not team managers so how would we know what powers they have or what riders contracts say. you seem to be pretty clued up on it tho.

Well he was technically sacked and whether or not that was reasonably handled is up to the lawers.

I just think it would be illogical to have a contract that said "i ride for this team, unless they fancy someone else". Imagine the amount of team fall outs in the past that would have resulted in team managers confiscating the bikes and leaving the riders jobless mid-season. Performance based get-out clauses are becoming more common, but thats a different issue.

Tom your making a mountain out of a mole hill.We are talking about ONE race because of injury, not replacing riders on a whim or a fancy. If the manager of a team, any team, football, baseball, car racing or Moto Gp,feels that a certain player, rider is a detrement to the cause,he can pull the plug if he thinks its for the good of the team.
