Had a really enjoyable weekend at Silverstone. I decided to park at the top end of the cicuit as we were planning to watch the races from the grandstand at Maggots/Becketts area (I think it was Red Rocket who suggested this as a good place to watch the races) Also the walk down from Copse to Maggots is great if you like being close to the track. It really was awesome watching them go into maggots at close quarters (150 mph entry speed I'm told) Superb view from the grandstand, you can see them come off the start/finish striaght and watch them through the new section of track right until they turn into Brooklands and if you have a pair of binoculars you can pick them up again as they exit copse right until they go under the bridge on Hanger striaght.

It was a pretty painless exit from Silverstone back to the M1

Only downside was I didn't get to meet any Powesrsliders this year. (or is that a good thing)

I can only speak as I find, but I had a chat to him at the Simoncelli foundation stand. He seemed a pretty decent guy

Me an Debs in Edinburgh, can't get a flight to craggy island til tomorrow, hey, might as well hit the pub! Went to the national motorcycle museum in brum today, pics will follow of all soon! This has been another epic PS adventure!

It really is, its going to be my spec from now on for sure. I'd say you can see a good 50/60% of the track from there, also a big screen.

Not going to sat I told ya so!

Whoops just did
<

It really is a good spot, the incidents with ducatti at club made the choice for us or I would have been there too.

Glad you had a good one buddy
<

Walking up to the fanzone in the centre of the circuit to meet up with Arrab, Basspete, Lil Red and the rest of the crew....

Look over at a picnic table. See a guy sitting there...It's John McGuiness.

He's got the Honda TT Legends gear on and he's just sitting there.

I think, right I am gonna go have a chat to him. He is sitting there looking bored.

Get 5 feet away from him and he turns to face me full on.

Its a guy who looks EXACTLY like John McGuiness and I mean exactly like...............apart from

Two of the biggest, roundest ears I have ever seen.

I just stared at him. Couldn't take my eyes off the ears.

He looked back at me with the look of a man who knows he looks like an Isle of Man TT legend, but a man who has massive ears that look like dinner plates

I saw the song to his vid, it seems he really wanted his face on it, as it did become annoying. I don't want to see his face, I want to see Sic footage. The song is great, and I like the play on the word muSIC. But yeah, get your annoying grill off the vid please. I also saw an interview with him, and he seems like a nice guy who wanted to pay homage to Sic, so I'll forgive him for his face.

You should have still asked him for an autograph and a photo. Let us be the judge of his Stoner like ears.

The excessive 'Sete-esque' hand on heart and pointing at the sky is immensely irritating. Nonetheless I do think that the sentiment is genuine. For comic value purely 'Rise Again' is preceded by an excruciating Crash cover of 'Walk This Way'.

Maggots next year for sure!

Still got memories of 2010 when scott passed there, commentator went mad "that's not in the script, that's not an overtaking place!"

Did you get any shots of scott passing there?

Will PM my email to you tomorrow

No, unfortunately not. I was too took up with the race. We also saw Cal make his pass on Hayden in the very same place, the whole stand went up lol. The speed they go into that section of track is unreal. I took a short video of the moto3 guys going through there on the first lap .....talk about runaway frieght train. I'II upload it to youtube tomorrow and post a link in here.
