Latest rumors courtesy of www.superbikeplanet.com

Gibernau will sign for Marlboro Ducati as the team has not exercised its right on Carlos Checa.

Camel may indeed leave Sito Pons's Honda team for Suzuki as it would be cheaper. Checa is linked to be Hopkins's teammate should Camel join Suzuki.

Movistar will leave Gresini Honda making way for either Gauloises/Fortuna or possibly Camel should they decide to leave Pons Honda and opt not to take on Suzuki. Should Gauloises/Fortuna take up sponsorship duties look for Toni Elias or Carlos Checa to ride the satellite RC211V alongside Marco Melandri. If Camel takes the reigns it should be a hot tempered all Italian garage with Biaggi teaming Melandri.

All signs point to Biaggi returning to Pons Honda for 2006 unless Camel do indeed jump ship to Gresini Honda where Biaggi would most likely follow his sponsor.

Yamaha will most likely be taken to court by Gauloises/Fortuna as their sponsorship of the Yamaha "factory" team runs through 2006 and Yamaha have signed Rossi to a contract which sees a clause that Rossi will not display tobbacco sponsorship. Yamaha have also announced that Rossi will not be in a one man private team, he will be teamed with Colin Edwards again for '06. Gauloises/Fortuna will most likely pull their sponsorship of Yamaha including the Tech 3 team and will take with them the name "factory" for 2006. Rossi and Edwards's team will be known as the "lead" as the Yamaha "factory" team in 2006 is contracted to Gauloises. The most likely sponsor for Yamaha's "lead" team will be Alice, Nastro Azzurro or Movistar as said before.

Hopefully you all aren't too confused, I'm a bit confused myself.

Yeah I read that thing on Soup today about Gauloises and Yamaha splitting becase of tobacco sponsorship. Kinda makes it had to believe Rossi is going to chuck his princples out the door and got to Ferrari who has just signed up Malboro till 2011

Somethings just don't quite add up here

He doesn't have the power in F1 that he does in MotoGP. He can't tell teams who he does and doesn't want sponsors. If he wants to go to F1 he can't play by his rules, the money there is so much more than in MotoGP.

It would be great of Movistar went to Yamaha because then they could stick it to Honda for taking their prodigy away. About the F1, Rossi does not have as much power there. Someone like Schumacher or maybe now Alonso or Raikonnen are the big fishes there and Rossi will be a smaller fish in the big pond there. Also, tobacco sponsorship will be there but the ads cannot be displayed since there all those new laws coming into place. The team may be called Marlboro Ferrari but will not have the words on the car or leathers.

According to a report from www.crash.net Jeremy Burgess and Colin Edwards have both spoken to Yamaha about enlisting the services of Casey Stoner for 2006. Perhaps the rumors of Tech 3 being cut off from Yamaha won't materialize after all, Stoner would be a great rider to team with Elias should Elias remain on the M1.

The commentators from motogp.com have slated Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa to ride for the Sito Pons Honda team next year and for Toni Elias to bring Fortuna sponsorship to Gresini and ride alongside Melandri. No word on where or if Barros will ride in 2006.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>ride alongside Gibernau

Nope Melandri they said, Melandri signed a 2 year deal apparently, they said some other nice tid bits too have to watch it again to remember them

Yeah I made a mistake, sorry Marbs. I was reading through that and I was thinking to myself "that's not right." Apologies, I'll edit the post momentarily.

Movistar has officialy announced their withdrawal from MotoGP.

Look for all the sponsorship movearounds and new riders on new teams.

Yeah I find that a bit ridiculous, There is a great possiblity that Alonso will be an also ran next year. Spanyards are a pretty fickle bunch, its fine while he's winning, they'll be back in MotoGP before long.

With Pedrosa in GP they all gonna tune in if he is doing good anyway.

Dumb marketing people

Actually Movistar had no choice, a lot of people in Spain still dislike Melandri (because of the '99 incident with Alzamora) so I guess if Sete is gone, sponsoring a team with Melandri as nº1 made no sense.
Also they felt betrayed by Pedrosa's move to Repsol, and Alonso is probably going to be the next Shumacher so it was quite an expected decision.

Hey fella, you should really shut it now, because next year when Alonso wins his 2nd WDC and Dani wins a GP in his rookie season you're gonna look like a fool when I quote you.

Oh what are we gonna do with ya

can't wait for 06

I won't get into the F1 debate because I will get laughed at because I'm a Button fan. Dani is a question mark, he could be instantly fast or it could take him some time. Either way he will win races.
