Latest rumors courtesy of www.superbikeplanet.com
Gibernau will sign for Marlboro Ducati as the team has not exercised its right on Carlos Checa.
Camel may indeed leave Sito Pons's Honda team for Suzuki as it would be cheaper. Checa is linked to be Hopkins's teammate should Camel join Suzuki.
Movistar will leave Gresini Honda making way for either Gauloises/Fortuna or possibly Camel should they decide to leave Pons Honda and opt not to take on Suzuki. Should Gauloises/Fortuna take up sponsorship duties look for Toni Elias or Carlos Checa to ride the satellite RC211V alongside Marco Melandri. If Camel takes the reigns it should be a hot tempered all Italian garage with Biaggi teaming Melandri.
All signs point to Biaggi returning to Pons Honda for 2006 unless Camel do indeed jump ship to Gresini Honda where Biaggi would most likely follow his sponsor.
Yamaha will most likely be taken to court by Gauloises/Fortuna as their sponsorship of the Yamaha "factory" team runs through 2006 and Yamaha have signed Rossi to a contract which sees a clause that Rossi will not display tobbacco sponsorship. Yamaha have also announced that Rossi will not be in a one man private team, he will be teamed with Colin Edwards again for '06. Gauloises/Fortuna will most likely pull their sponsorship of Yamaha including the Tech 3 team and will take with them the name "factory" for 2006. Rossi and Edwards's team will be known as the "lead" as the Yamaha "factory" team in 2006 is contracted to Gauloises. The most likely sponsor for Yamaha's "lead" team will be Alice, Nastro Azzurro or Movistar as said before.
Hopefully you all aren't too confused, I'm a bit confused myself.
