Latest rumor swirling about the John Hopkins and Colin Edwards forums is Biaggi and his Camel sponsorship are picking up and leaving Honda. What team would take Max and his money? Rumors have it, get this... Suzuki. The Biaggi to Suzuki rumor returns. And apparently, it sounds promising.

Yes, it sounds promising indeed. I doi not see why Suzuki would take Biaggi other than the fact that he can bring alot of money and maybe some development skill with him to the GSV-R.

Hopkins and Biaggi do not like each other so I do not see any chemistry there. Maybe that dislike will make them try harder to beat each other and come up with a better overall bike.

What I do not wish to see is a stall in the development of the bike since both have different riding styles. Everybody knows Biaggi leads with the front and has a 250cc style of riding while Hopper keeps it stateside with the rear end doing the talking.

If it is to happen it has its pros and cons and would bean interesting sight indeed.

Another point this leads to is what will Pons do to get sponsorship money. Where would all this leave Pons with his current Camel sponsorship being Camel moving to Suzuki.

I can see some conclusions align in myt head already. Rossi leaves Gauloises to make his own one-man team. This gives Fortuna (Altadis/Fortuna/Gauloises) a reason to leave Yamaha. Telefonica leave MotoGP to sponsor Alonso. Gresini needs a sponsor once Telefonica leaves so he gets backing from Fortuna. Then comes in Gibernau and Fortuna and BAM we have a sponsor for Gresisni and Sete stays with Honda.

Interesting scenario indeed. Here is another crazy scenario. Fortuna is a spanish company and they want Spanish riders. So they sign Checa from Ducati and we have Checa riding a Honda while Melandri moves to JiR and we see the Japan Italy racing going on. This would leave Ducati with Vodafone maybe to pick up the sponsorship and have an open seat ready. Or maybe Fortuna signs Elias again and Checa stays with Ducati. That is an interesting thought.

About the 'POM' thing, it comes from the actual abbrieviation POME, which stands for 'prisinor of mother england', as all the english prisinors were sent to australia. not sure how accurate that is, but it is what i have heard.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Ooost @ May 20 2005, 05:11 AM)<div class='quotemain'>I wanted to start a topic where we can discuss all the rumors that are milling about because that always is interesting.

Dani Pedrosa to Repsol Honda?  I posted it a few days ago and it was brought up again, apparently his manager and HRC have a gentlemen's agreement.

Mat Mladin leaving AMA?  Reportedly approached by a European team to race either WSB or MotoGP.  When questioned he responded with a "No comment".

As a college student nearing the end of finals week my brain is about as cooked as McCoy's tires so I can't think of anymore.  Hopefully this will be an ongoing topic throughout the season.  Happy hunting.

<I think Mat Maladin would e a great Moto GP rider!

Mladin signed a contract for three more years with Suzuki to run AMA so that rumor was put to rest a while ago.

Mat will never be moved up to Motogp. I don't understand why but he won't be moved.
I also don't believe Vale will be starting a team next season.
Sete's style will not match well with the Ducati.

Mladin won't go to MotoGP for a couple of reasons. First of all, when asked about this he claimed that he enjoys riding in the AMA series despite the fact that he will take any opportunity he can to criticize the series. He has also said it would be too hard to travel globally while running his own AMA Superbike team, keeping track of his dealerships in Australia and moving his family around or being apart from them for so much of the year. Also, there are very few team bosses who think Mladin has the stuff to beat Rossi and those who do believe it is too late for him to adapt and be successful.

I also doubt Rossi will be in a one man team for 2006, however I do believe he will be in new livery. Either Alice or Nastro Azzurro.

You never know how Sete will fair with the Ducati, if Capirossi were not riding for the factory and was being mentioned to go to Ducati I wouldn't think his style would suit the Desmosidici either but he is sitting on two race wins this season. Gibernau may fare better than we are all thinking.

sete on the duke lol its a odd thing for sure cus when sete gets any sort of movement on the front he really seems to struggle plus the duke front end moves more than most so he should find it hard, saying all this the dukes speed and power will suit sete... thats only my point of view cus in 2003 when vale was on the move i was hoping hed have a go on the duke

I think Matt will not go to MotoGP mainly because he will only go to a winning team out of the box and since that is not Suzuki he wouldn't go there. Honda or Yamaha wouldn't offer him a factory ride cause he is too old...

That would really REALLY be a huge shock in Spain.

Mladin will not go because he has said he will only ride a competitive bike. As we all know, the GSV-R is not that competitive. What if he was to go to another team you say? There is no way in hell Suzuki will let him ride any bike other than their own at MotoGP or any other race series in the world. He is their flagship rider here in the US.

I'm not saying Mladin would ever leave Suzuki or the AMA for that matter but in all reality Suzuki has no control over him just as Yamaha have no control over Rossi. They dominate their series and each factory is lucky to have their rider. If Mladin REALLY wanted to go somewhere else there isn't anything Suzuki could do to stop him.

Yea, but what they can do is keep him contracted to a Suzuki and that will in a way make him only be able to ride Suzukis. If he really did want to go to another company and all that jizzas he could if he wanted to as long as he wasn't under a contract. (Don't think Alex Barros.)

it was a shock when i read it. i know telefonica want's to sponsor spanish riders, but it kinda makes sense if they were to sponsor another rider, who better than rossi? they be out front all the time, thumbing thier nose at honda & danni boy, & i would think theres a large amount of rossi lovers in spain.
