I was down at Catalunya in '99 and EVERYBODY i met in Barcelona was a personal friend of Criville. Except from that I think you are right, there is not enough hatred between the countries. They love Rossi, but when Biaggi crashed it was applause and not so nice words yelled at him.

And the fact that there are som many Rossi fans i Spain and the rest of Europe is also why any speculation regarding Rossi's possibility to get a contract become totally meaningless.
His celebrety status alone is almost enough to put him on any team, even if he couldn't ride ;-)

Have you considered enlarging your sample of Spaniards before using 'they' in the second bit of the sentence? Maybe you dealt with a desperate case of multiple personalities?
