Show off your motorcycle helmet!

I love helmets in much the same way kids love toys, you can never have enough.

Always liked the Haga rep.

It was actually the first decent helmet i bought, and still think it the best looking. Its 7 years or so old and I had to replace the cheek pads because they had holes in them and fell apart.

I actually just came back from a bike shop today and had the wife with me to keep me in check. She had to drag me away from the huge helmet section, some really sweet looking Aria Corsair's and a nice AGV Corsa electric blue Miller replica had me drooling. I settled for some nice new gloves.

What year R1 do you have Arrabbiata1?

I was rummaging through Ebay the other day and came across a like new, worn once, stored in box RF800. Dude had a 100% rating so i said wtf and bought it. 40 bucks and this thing is new. Over the years i have had just about every one of the RF series and the 1000-1200 have been some of my least favorites. Sliding on the 800 was like finding your old favorite baseball glove

You're right, price sure doesn't reflect comfort, but its what you notice the most when you wear them. You cant really go wrong for $40 dollars either. The cheaper AGV helmet I got given to me as a gift from my sister surprised me the most. Silky smooth liner that makes it easy to slides on and off, they taper in at the base which lets you move your head around a bit more easier. The thing I don't like is the field of view is a bit low for my liking, not ideal for a sports bike. I never really liked the look and shape of the new AGV helmets until I put one on. The shell does feel a bit cheap and plasticky too, even the expensive ones felt the same.

For a long time, you wore a certain brand helmet depending on the shape of your head. My head shape happened to fit Shoei so that what i bought time after time. Now most of the upper end have a pad system where you can custom fit to any head shape The one time i strayed from that path was i bought a Suomy and that has been one cluster .... after another. Now they dont even sell that piece of .... in the US any longer frpm what i understand. Side plates blowing off on every ride, totally weird placement of pads and the helmet moved quite a bit. It was the high end Spec 1R, biggest waste of money ever.

The Aria fits my head nicest but what i dislike is that my nose sometimes touches the little nose guard thing at higher speeds. Its just distracting and annoying if anything, I ended up fitting tighter cfeekpads and it stopped this happening. I tried a Shoei XR1100 because it was so cheap at $200 brand new (only one left at a store), it was nice fit to my surprise but I do find the base of the neck roll collar has chunky rubber bits sticking out, it often gets caught on my jacket when moving head around. I do like what AGV have done with tampering the helmet thinner as it gets down to the neck roll area, it looks weird but is functionally a good idea.

That's like opposite of me can't wear those curvy Oakley sunglasses. They don't touch my nose.

Most Oakley shades come with additional longer nose pieces Kitty. If they don't work I believe they even make special "Asian fit" ones too. [emoji1]

I have a soumy vandal helmet, only worn it a few times on the track and I find it great. Super light. Wore arai for years and I found them super comfy, like you could ride away for the weekend camping and get drunk and sleep in it.

But the brow on the aria's were too low for me, I just put up with it for ages. What a difference.

Some soumy helmets are made in Asia and some are or were Italy. I think they ceased production totally in Italy.

Also crash tested quite a few fox and troy lee mx helmets over the years. I find the fox a more snug fit, don't rattle about or shift on bigger landings/rhythm sections. The troy lee seemed a bit light. Would like to try the new one, but they are about $900 at the moment. Friends store sells both brands and I get the fox at a great price.

Bell Vortex. Great fit and well made. Not crazy expensive either.
I have this exact Helmet but I rarely wear it. I hate the magnet strap secure thing- it sucks. My magnet actually fell off the strap....

I normally wear my Shoei RF1100 but I am getting ready to replace it with an HJC RPHA 10. The new RF1200 are still priced a bit out of my range
