Show off your motorcycle helmet!

My dad uses helmets with those pro-shade systems and he likes them. I've never used one though. It seems practical. I just spent so much money on this helmet that I don't want to buy another one for a few years so I can mentally justify the purchase.

My dad uses a Nolan helmet like in the picture.

My GT Air has a built in deployable dark shield. I don't really care for it during bright days. The tinted shields are not available in the US (I was told they're not legal) so I ordered one from the UK.

The drop down shield is good for rides that leave in the afternoon to return after dark. If thats the plan I'll put the clear shield on and use the 'built in' but generally, I think they're sub-optimal.

Wearing sunglasses inside the helmet can be a pain in the neck if you have a pair that doesn't fit tight on your head. They shake around a lot, and you can't exactly push them back up onto the bridge of your nose at any moment. In the photo I put earlier I'm wearing a pair of Ray Ban Aviator glasses which fit my face really snug, and they have very thin "ear bars" or whatever you call them, so I have no problems wearing them under the helmet. They always stay in place during the ride. So I don't really mind doing it that way.

Not too fancy but I think drivers seem to notice white better than the black RF1100 it replaced.

I actually think a lot of graphics on helmets are ....... dumb, my AGV is just a flat black because I hated all the graphic helmets.

Although there is one in particular I would buy because...

Full face and half. I have more helmets, but I don't like the others. I use the full face most of the time.

And yes, the full face screams 'MURICA.

Will be buying another half helmet once the weather warms up.

What's the problem with HJC?
That's not a defensive question. I've never worn an HJC helmet and don't know why people might dislike them.

HJC are terrible helmets.

I tried a number of them, they were all uncomfortable, and felt cheaply made.

The guys in the shop kept swearing by them, but I wasn't impressed one bit. They had some decent designs, but the helmet looking good is a secondary aspect.

Not a fan of either HJC or Bell.

Shoei and Schuberth make amazing helmets. Arai is okay, wasn't as taken with their stuff because I didn't think the price was justified.

I once had a HJC helmet and initially it fitted well and was very comfortable with little wind noise around the visor region.

After around 6 months though the linings started to wear to the degree where the lower lining (the vinyl at the base) was degrading and the noise level had increased slightly - the comfort was still ok but not perfect.

In the end I kind of destroyed it by sliding face first after hitting black ice in the Royal National Park south of Sydney but will state outright that the helmet did it's job - yes I was unconcious (found in the middle of the road) but the helmet had stayed on as needed.

The concern (and Shovel please jump in with your knowlegde) wast hat whilst the chin guard had worn away and back, as had the visor, the side of the helmet where I must have hit (around the temple) actually showed small cracks. As I said, all good and it definitely saved some serious injuries, just not sure if it should have cracked like it did.

Mind you, I am not brand loyal as I have had Bell, Arai, Kiwi, HJC, KBC, RJays and numerous other helmets

This is one sexy helmet.

Soon to be available for purchase at your nearest Shark Helmet Retailer.

I guess its somewhat color appropriate since the bike is black with white.

The wind in your face feels great, but the rock or tree that squishes your Mellon will more than make up for that feeling of freedom. I never ever get on one without at least helmet and gloves, 99.99% of the time it's full gear. I've seen way to many results of not wearing gear, my brother being one of them, it ain't pretty. My last get off which was a year ago this month would more than likely been either fatal or life altering without it. I understand the draw of riding without gear, just isn't worth it, to me anyway.

I have a few full face helmets for when I take one of my ducatis out, or track day or MX... but 96.2% of the time I ride its on my harley and i'm just heading down to my local motorcycle friendly cantina for a bite to eat and a beer.
