Well, very early days ..... Yes remember this Talpa ...... calm down ....

As for Ducati, yesterday is a truly stunning achievement if all of the reported time-frames are accurate in the development of this bike-if your a fan or not-I've never been a fan of Ducati but this is impressive.

As the instigator of the Ducati cure, I would still suggest you wait at least for a few races before you conclude my design is successful.

Don't jinx the recovery just ..... patience. Casey out on track may show that he is still 1-1.5 seconds slow for all we know.

......

Barry read my post last page.

Honda is still screamer, right? What does this means? A 900cc instead of 1000c?

For sure I hate big bang too, but only at high revs. At low revs it's very nice, it sounds like a Nascar.

whatever, it would be insane a 1000cc screamer, I'm sure by now that Honda is a 900 or 930cc.

Why 900 instead of 1,000? I don't get you? Is there a regulation on this!?

No, because Nakamoto said "more than 800cc, less than 1000cc". Yes it could be a 999cc, but a 1000cc screamer would be insane even for the most advanced electronics, it would be better to start smooth the power delivery inside the source instead of the outside.

BTW, fuel consumption accounts too. There is no miracle, same liters as last year. I doubt very much it's a 1000cc. I can bet with you.

May have to confer with Krop. on this one but I don't believe there has ever been a regulation on Insanity in MGP!!

Sorry that sounded like a joke .... which it kinda is ...... and kinda isn't
<

But really I haven't seen a thing on what capacity the Honda actually is ....... just Honda folk calling it a 1000, can't see why thats a bother really ...... especially when they have regulations on "reliability" the 1000 is a definite plus on that. Fuel efficiency may be the only real reason for them to play with the capacity ..... but meh ....... Honda keepsaying its a 1000.

WTF?? Did Honda keep screamer???

A better view:

Then maybe Honda is not a 1000cc! What do ya think mad Barry?

Rossi in straight: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4LWdFTArCCM

No, a real screamer would sound like this:

I don't know the details of Ducati's crank timing, but it sounds like they've got pairs of pistons firing nearly simultaneously. The Honda fring order has more stagger, but is nowhere near a 180-180-180-180 screamer.

For sure, I can't see a single point in having a screamer 1000cc. A lots of electronics trying to smooth a devil that could be smoother since the root, avoiding complication. Electronics and software don't do miracles, aren't perfect (yet).

hmmm, literally that screams a lot

No it wouldn't be insane at all!!

I'm sure you've ridden a few larger screamers in your life. CBX 1100 comes to mind. And that was a six ...... god aweful bike both in sound and ......... everything .....

Hyabusa

Most > 1000 Street bikes Kawa Suzi Yam Honda

DId you die when you rode those? ...... no.

Screamer isn't a problem. The problem is the state of tune, and they have that in check with electronics these days . Can't see the problem at all really. The oddness to me is why Rossi etc. like big bang, but then again not really ...... and again it goes back to something I've said all along ....... Rossi is a railway track rider he doesn't ride it loose, so its probably easier for him to play around that point before traction is broken ( hell I based my whole non-horizontal cylindered Ducati on this ........ so I hope I'm right! )

Other riders can cope with screamer due to their riding skills/style ( read Stoner ) but nonetheless I dare say Honda could even make a screamer feel close to a big bang purely via electronics.

How dare you bad mouth the mighty CBX.... Oh wait, that pos had two cams didn't it?.....carry on.....

No actually never.

In Brazil this big dogs is really, really expensive. I can't afford it. And none of my friends owns one too... lol... sport bikes here is a really hard thing to achieve.

But you can't compare a 1000cc street bike with these prototypes, they have at least (at least) 60 HP more (they will never tell us the truth but I would bet in 275~280 HP).

The point is not whether or not they're capable, but if it's worth. Too much costs and complexity for nothing, when you can have a better effect (the original one) only by changing the firing order.

That was an 800 screamer ...... the 1000's are used at lower revs, relying on torque so they can drop the revs plus physics says they won't move those bigger parts around as quickly so they.

Best screamer of all time (except in shear size )

Ah, oh bummer ... well I assure you, you would not die .... in fact you tend to gain life after riding such things ( adrenaline is the worlds best drug )

No they aren't the same, but racing bikes are not as scary as you are making out, indeed many folk say they are very user friendly ...... which is not that surprising. But I would suggest those are folk who have control of their right hand. PS. 60 extra HP really isn't that much in the scheme of things, Id more go on about the weight.

I know what you are saying ....... but I really haven't seen exactly what Honda have chosen in capacity ...... I dare say they have fully worked out the fuel economy/reliability/power equation .... thats for sure.

Welcome back everyone! It's a long awful winter without GP.

As for the test? I hate to say it. Ducati will improve, Yamaha will improve, CRT bikes will need a season to show any real performance, finally.....Honda and Stoner will continue to dominate. That's what 2012 has in store for us.

Also, it'll be nice to see Rossi with improved form, but I just don't think he'll push the Honda's with any consistency. Honda has everyone's number.
