Seb Porto was one of the more entertaining riders I think I've seen in 250. He did completely the opposite of Simon by actually winning a race, but not realising it and carried on over the line with his head nailed to the tank thinking that he was on the penultimate lap and not seeing the checkered flag. I also remember his motocross exploits infield at Philip Island when he went off track in monsoon conditions jumped over a rise - rode through a lake sized puddle and rejoined the race. Best one, and I've posted it before; I'm certain that it was Welkome which had some sort of outfield roval thing going on for the cage racing. A group of us were watching the race and someone commented on the ridiculously fast paddock scooter riding around the banked perimeter outside the track. It was Porto, who had outbraked himself and taking the carpark route inadvertently ended up on the wrong circuit. He rejoined the race - and won it!
His exploits on that prehistoric YZR 250 Yamaha with Sprinta Petronas were nothing short of legendary. The mullet made him resemble the taxi driving geezer out of the Chili Peppers videos for By The Way and Universally Speaking.
