Kropotkin: GPOne states that the engine is a partially-stressed member of the chassis. This contradicts what you're saying, so perhaps you could clarify the confusion.

I thought I read it was a traditional twin spar at the front but connected at the rear by the motor. Would that not make the motor a partially stressed member?

You are correct! Even my '73 CB500 uses the engine as a partially stressed member. Racing guys will even sleeve the mounts or use larger bolts to take even further play out.
