seeing as this is the week where the tire rule for 2008 is being decided, i got a feeling rossi is going to do some major sandbagging at this race..

especially in the early warmups and even the qualies.

he hasnt much to gain or lose in the championship.

hes got 2nd pretty much all sealed up anyway.

well so far it is all bridgestones except pedrosa, and when you think about it over 50% of the grid is already one bridgestone so why not let the others join

forever the optimist hey Pinky?

Seriously, Rossi would never be happy with 16th place (or whatever he finished in FP2) and would NOT deliberately finish up there at the end of a session (sponsors would be enraged, team tension would build etc etc) .. He (along with Edwards) is clearly struggling so far..

Im sure he'll be somewhere near up to speed tommorow

yeh dont be so niave. hes got nothing to lose this season. especially in this race. he can throw it easily.

lets weigh it up throw away 10 or so points this race or have a "chance" (in his eyes anyway) of winning the WC in 2008.....

hmmm big decision isnt it.

he can fight for a win this race, in all likelyhood he prob would finish on the podium. but would he win? prob not. what does he get out of it? for him, nothing

or he can sandbag. come mid pack just enough to be somewhere not too far from pedrosa.

this will weigh heavily on the people who make the decisions. 1 tire rule next year and he gets what he wants.

totally agree

Eurosport interviewed JB and hinted off air that they tested every tire in todays practice session, so thats probably why the fiat's are down the grid.

Wow...consider though that Ross is 29 points clear of Pedrosa for 2nd place....so Rossi can afford to score nothing this weekend and still keep second going into Valencia....so Rossi can use and trash all his tyres to make the case to Dorna and Michelin and Yamaha why he should move to Bridgestone...

rossi is more professional than that ! you dont get to be a 7 times world champion with that sort of attitude.
you can be sure he means business on the track and will always do his best. he will leave the politics for the board room where it belongs.

He is more professional than that...but my point is Rossi can afford to take chances with his tyres and even DNF without losing his place...consider that even if it serves to make Michelins better by testing testing testing then he migh do it...

lets see, Shcumacher, Alonso even this year with Lewis, they all resort to dirty tricks to get on top.

its alot less obvious in motogp, but its no different.

rossi this year has put lots of pressure on yamaha, michelin and the motogp officials.

lol you are doing a good job in the absence of cscvaw arent ya? If you actually really believe this and its not a joke I wonder what kind of frame of mind you are in.

This is from Bridgestone Spokesman today...

"From today's results we can see that the newly laid track is more abrasive on tyres, so we have to use harder specs compared to last year and pre-season testing. There are different specs within the hard range, but generally the tyres we have are among the hardest tyres we will use this season.

http://www.crash.net/motorsport/motogp/new...ew_surface.html

Guess what happens to Michelins on Abrasive surfaces compared to Bridgestones?

Anyone remember the 2005 F1 race at Indianapolis?
Just a reminder... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_United_States_Grand_Prix
<

Michelin riders will have to go with their hardest tyres to have a hope to last the whole race. This means that it will take longer for Michelins to get up to right tempature, and by the time they do lap 6 or 7 the rest of the field will be long gone.

It should be a Bridgestone Fest on Sunday...!

I think mick doohan was a lot more ruthless than valentino, and I suspect casey stoner is too. I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing; I am a major schumacher fan.

Assuming they haven't raced on equal terms this year, if they do next year it will be more than interesting; genius against killer. Not that I am discounting others.
