I just cant see wsb being that attractive to him.

Roger, I haven't seen your suggestion before as I would have commented then (apologies by the way0 but I reckon you are likely well correct with the only exception I see being if VR goes rallying.

Like you I do not see him heading to WSBK (although probably for different reasons than yourself) but I find it impossible that he could do without the limelight that goes with being VR (and he does enjoy the limelight), thus he will stay in the sport. But I expect it will be in a role more akin to that performed by Doohan for a few years at HRC in which he was more of a mentor than a team manager as such (although I suspect that VR knows a lot better strip clubs

).

I expect any role to be with Yamaha in MotoGP as that is where his career will be ending.

I don't necessarily expect him to start his own MotoGP team (not sure about Moto2 yet) as it just doesn't strike me as something that VR would find that interesting (Doohan had the same problems).

Vale once said that rally was no more than a hobby and not something he intended to take up professionally, He has the right to change his mind tho

vale has spent his whole life in the paddock. firstly as a kid travelling with mum and dad and then for his own career. I don't think he would be very happy anywhere other than a paddock somewhere. i just have a feeling that managing a team will be more of a challenge than chasing a wsb title. Rossi stated how much he is enjoying being his own manager after firing the other useless ..... Its just a feeling of mine, thats all.

i think rossi would want to finish his career as a champion, and retire after a season he wins.. maybe after two or three years.. then move to wrc.. there is no reason for him to go to wsbk right away, i dont think he ll ever go, but if he does then it would be just for fun.. he is too old for f1, and he cant be a champion like surtees.. but if he wins wrc he would be the only one.. also rossi said he is not after the wins.. he cares more about the championships.. he needs two more to equal agostini..

Unless wsbk becomes the premier category or merges with motogp, which is not impossible, I think that valentino seriously pursuing a wsbk championship with the implication that this would prove something in addition to his 6 premier class titles (5 of which were on 500 or 990 bikes if you consider the 800 formula ideologically unsound or a temporary aberration) might devalue his previous achievements; for a start it would likely fairly rapidly terminate motogp racing, leaving him as the best ever racer in a defunct series. I doubt even he has time to win 6 wsbk championships.
