Some big changes happening at Yamaha. Rumours are true that Max Montanari will officially take over from Alessio Salucci's (Uccio's) duties at Yamaha from 2019 onwards when Yamaha confirmed that Uccio's contract will not be renewed beyond 2018. Uccio will still have access to the pit box but will not be allowed into the pit lane area, all clipboard and iPad responsibilities will now fall onto Max and his capable teams shoulders. Max Montanari who is not new to the responsibilities of the role has indicated that the new challenge excites him and that he very much looks forward to the 2019 season ahead.
Understandably Uccio was extremely upset upon hearing this news and immediately filed an offical appeal with the factory team only to have his appeal request rejected within a 48hrs period. Uccio has declined an official interview but sources close indicate that Uccio will take this opportunity as a well earned break from the series. When asked if Uccio's sudden departure from the position was in any way linked to Uccio's refusal of allowing Valentino to spit his saliva into his assistants palm to coat the 9 time world champions earplugs with his own saliva VR46 and Sky Racing officials have declined to comment.
