Yeah I think you need to wake up and smell the roses Turkish fan. Rossi is a good rider, but he`s no angel. And not everyone is fond of him

i can c that not everyone likes rossi but thats their choice, we r not robots yet, but most do agree that rossi is a king on the race track and wot hes done to moto gp, support ur own rider with passion, the only thing that does piss me off is if i make a view on rossi its all sod off to a rossi site, why shud eye? im a passion filled geezer who likes gp and rossi who does fantastic thinks on the track that makes my heart miss a beat..
ive watched most rider over the years and have lots of vids and dvds and a bit of at times gud input into our sport..

<

But they've got a good rider such as Rossi, and the bike works very well for him. If Rossi went to a bad team he would be over-donig the bike. If Yamaha replaced Edwards with say Capirossi or Hayden then they would do extremely well!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (FanDeVale_Turkish fan @ Jun 8 2006, 02:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>They have to like. He's the most importana rider in motogp. It have to be angel

i dont have to like rossi if i dont want to.

i have my reasons, as stupid as they may be. But i dont HAVE to like him.

rossi_46_winner .... i understand completely mate ... you shouldn't have to go anywhere else to talk or post about him. and ben is right you shouldn't have to go anywhere else. You have the perfect place right here.

it just its not good for people to be told what to think ... people shouldn't be telling me to worship rossi, in the same way that i shouldnt tell people to worship Vermeulen... its just not cricket, you dont do it.

rossi lovers ... you can love him all you want, just dont tell me to, i don't appreciate it

There`s no problem with admiring Rossi and his talents, a lot of us do that, and Rossi fans have the right to worship him. I worship Bayliss, but my religions just not as big as yours. But to say "everyone loves Rossi" or worse, "everyone HAS to love Rossi" is not good at all. Yeah, the Rossi banter does get a bit annoying at times, but you guys have every right to say go on about him. That`s your opinion and that`s what this forum is all about: Opinions. But by the same token, it`s not a Rossi fan club (Or a place to start one for that matter) And I don`t appreciate being told I HAVE to love Rossi. I`ll say again I admire his skill, his charisma and what he does for the sport, but I`m not a Rossi fan and I sure as hell don`t love him.

And winner you`d better stay put, not go off to some Rossi forum. It`s bad enough we lost Marbs, can`t be losing another funny old geezer

I love DANI PEDROSA. But I don't go around asking people to love him too. In fact I know some hate him because he's not as good as Rossi, he's not as friendly as Rossi, he's not smiling as much as Rossi, blah, blah, blah, blah. But what the heck, I still love DANI PEDROSA.

please dont put me into the turkish fan bracket
<
i cant make him out at all

plus i know i went a bit o.t.t. at the start but ive calmed down a bit now, but if i think sumones wrong in their view on rossi im gunna be there

tis your right brother! it's an open forum. enjoy it to the fullest!

The fact the he may be the best doesn't mean we must like him, I don't like him.

I don't like Schumacher either and he is (statistically) the best ever.

i cant think of a rider i dont like?????????????????, im not trying to start things but to those who dont like rossi id like to know why? and to those who really really hate his gut explain? thanks.

Personally, I don't have anything against Rossi. He is possibly the greatest rider in history, certainly the greatest of his generation. His charisma has done wonders for the sport and in part because of him, our sport has grown tremendously. For those reasons he is a hard rider to dislike.

However, I do get irritated by the fact that he can get away with whatever he wants. For example, all of these 'racing incidents' that have occurred in the past years and rider suspensions and so on. Rossi participates in one and he gets no punishment whereas another rider does a similar maneuver and is suspended for a race. I'm not saying I wish Rossi got suspended every so often, but if another rider gets punished for a similar mmove as Rossi's then the punishment should be equal. In my opinion, 'racing incidents' are just that and should not be coupled with a suspension of any kind. Secondly, it gets repetitive hearing how Valentino Rossi will win simply because he is Valentino Rossi. I understand he is the greatest rider of his generation but there are a lot of contributing factors that help Rossi win who don't receive much credit. For example, I'm not so sure Rossi would have won the championship in 2004 without Jeremy Burgess. Things like that.

I don't mean to be rude and I'm certainly not trying to say there's anything wrong with being a Rossi fan. We all have our biases, how many times have I picked Nicky Hayden to win races? How many times have I defended The Kentucky Kid? Fans do what they need to do to defend their riders and I understand that. I hope I haven't offended anyone here. I was just trying to answer Winner's question and I think he will understand what I'm trying to say. You've been a knowledgable member of this community for some time now.

I don't hate Rossi, I just dislike him. I didn't like it when pushed Sete off the track at Jerez and got away with with it, I didn't like it when he laughed at Sete about his injury or when he laughed at Crivillé.

Also some of his fans make me dislike him, they're a bunch of hypocrites.
i.e.
Rossi wins in 2004 with Yamaha, they say the bike doesn't matter what matters is the rider (true to some extent), this year Rossi doesn't win, they say it's because the bike is crap.

Sete has lot's of bad luck in 2005 they laugh at Sete and say you make your own luck, this year they're all crying about Rossi being unlucky.

Biaggi has chattering problems in 2005, Rossi fans lass their ... off Biaggi for complaining, this year they all bringing up excuses about chatter. Rossi himself laughed at Biaggi's chatter and this year he had to talk about "vibrations" because he knew how ironic it would be to hear him complaining about chatter.

Rossi didn't bump him off the track. If you watch closely, Sete just didn't hold his wad long enough, if he'd tapped the brakes and pulled the bike in tight behind Rossi....he'd have gotten inside Valentino on the second apex....instead he got bumped outside...watch the vid....I like both riders but Valentino gets blamed there...its racing....
besides Loris, Sete has been the only guy in recent memory to really push Rossi....I love that stuff

ooost i take on board everything uve said and with good cause
<

teo thanx for ur bit also, on the jerez bump when i first saw it i went wow that was harsh but when i looked again it had to be done to win the race and he was level just, another question for u to anwser how do u think gp races would have been like over the last 5 years without rossi? with me he just makes my heart miss a beat when he races and im 40 years old
<

Cheers. He certainly does know how to keep a race interesting.

Teo and Ooost raised some great points about why us "other" fans don`t have to like Rossi, I don`t think I can add anything to that.
And Doc 79, for all our sakes, please don`t start talking about Jerez again, you`ll open up a can of worms
