So in Finnish press today the story is that Kallio could be in motogp as soon as next season if his form continues.

Livio Suppo is quoted as saying "Mika has done extremely good work" and that "nearly all of the top motogp riders come from 250s. Of course we are interested in Mika for the future, if form continues"

So Kallio's replacing Melandri next year?

He is contracted to KTM for 2009 but there is a release clause for motogp ride. Personally I don't think it's that likely...but how about you?

I'm not so sue. How much room in motogp is there for the riders waiting at the door? What about the two japs? They have served their apprentaships now, and Bautista is an obvious choice for motogp teams.

I think Ben will get the oust as the guy to get, if Aspar gets the deal for two bikes with Yamaha. I doubt the Suzuki riders now will get shafted, as Vermuelen might not have much result in 2008, but is very popular, and Loris has a very good resume. Unless you have 4 Suzuki's next year, Spies better look for a ride in WSBK.

Kallio and Baustista are very good choices. Takahasi (hope spelling is right?) has done very well on the JiR Scot teams and could get a ride with Honda as Nakano's career seems to be over in MotoGP.

Will Rossi retire? That is still up to question every off season. Will Colin retire? Will Melandri get shafted at Ducati? Will Aspar get a tw obike deal? With whom? How many bikes with Team KR come out with? Those things need to be known, before the seats can be guessed to be filled.

Well I think there even if Aspar get's two bikes, his choice is 1st Bautista and then Spies and I think Nieto is probalbly higher in the list (if he gets Suzukis). So no room there for Kallio.

There should be some free seats available though, West should get fired, Guintoli is dead last in pretty much every race, FP, Melandri is doing REALLY bad but I think his credit will last at least one more season. Nakano is not doing bad, but not shining either, but I think as long as he keeps on beating his teammate DeAngelis he should be OK.

So IMO I think Bautista and Spies are the most likely riders to enter MotoGP next season.

kallio will not come in till 2010 methinks. and if he comes on with ducati he better hope the thing is more ridable. being from the 250s he'll suffer the same fate as melandri. aspar will get a team in 09 & as teo say's he will bring bautista with him over spies for sure, reguardless if it's suzuki's or yamahas.

I just don't picture Kallio on a that Duke. I think the only guy capable of taming the Ducati is the same guy that has rode successfully on 125's, 250's, 500's, 990's (two makes), and 800's (two different tire manufacturers). The guy that seems to make whatever he is on work. What I am saying is Ducati should be looking to Vale to ride their beast. I don't know if past relationships, nor their ability to pay his salary are factors, but who knows maybe Vale is ready to ride Italian?

Rossi looked at Ducati before Yamaha, and didn't fall in love with the home team.

Kallio could take the Kawasaki ride next year, but that might interfer with his Red Bull sponsorship in 250, as Kawasaki is sponsored by the rival Monster.

Kallio is one who deserves the opportunity from the 250's along with a few others.

But how about a wildcard in Kenan Sofoglu (or however you spell it).

Just throwing it out for discussion.

Hes struggling to get on terms with big bike riding so far, i'd need to see more results from him in superbike before i was convinced.

I'd put Mattai Pasini on a MotoGP bike ... he has loads of talent, BUT he won't be there in 2009!

Nieto? Why could he get a ride? 5 letters, N I E T O. No other reason. Bautista has talent, unfortunately he won't have the bike to match if he ends up on a Suzuki. I hope Spies comes through and Bautista is there, really interesting pair and a lot more information for Suzuki that should help with development.

I heard his arm strength was in doubt for the 250 ride!! Something to do with an old injury or something

I heard it mentioned as well that Pasini was to never get a 250 ride due to a weak arm. So far though he has proven he can ride the 250. Now a 800cc GP bike is another story.
