I hope this is an audition of sorts for a WSBK ride ? Too bad Spies won't have an audtion of this sort, I think he would be another good WSBK rider.
I was definitely being generous, I'm thinking 2 DNF's may push him up.
I think he can beat both tech3, Nakano, Hofmann, Roberts. Thats 5 from 20. Then it's guys like checa, Barros, West, Duhamel to contend with. He could beat these guys, but again his ability to set up a GP bike is so limited, who knows.

15th wouldn't be such a good result IMO, but 12th-13th is most likely 10th at the best.

He should look to WSBK, problem is what the hell would he ride. No way riding a Kwaka, Honda look as though they have a sorted line up, Yamaha will most likely keep the old guys, Ducati Bayliss maybe Xaus.

Suzuki? I haven't heard what Francis Fatta is doing. Supersport might his best bet.

I like wildcard riders, it doesn't happen too often and they are definitely the unknown quantity.

What is Roger's experience with Qualifyers and Bridgestones?

Test at Autopolis in Japan. He may not have tried any qualifying rubber.

Pffffff, as if that mattered for West in WSBK Supersport.

But I'm rooting for Roger Lee!

To take Roger Lee over Westy would be a huge mistake in my opinion! Westy knows all the tracks, is still relatively young compared to Roger Lee and is proving himself to be a quick learner and excellent prospect for the future. West would be a great prospect for any team as opposed to an untested Roger Lee!

So what if RLH does go out and get a better finish than West????? Does this mean that he is a better rider and thus a better prospect than West? I would expect a better finish for Roger as he knows this track. He may not know the bike very well, but I think track knowledge will help offset this somewhat. I don't think 1 race is enough to get a good idea of what a rider is capable of on these machines.

Roger should beat Ant, period, that would proove hes ok.. if he gets top 10 (like Ant did in his first dry race) then hes as good a prospect as Ant, if beating Ant means he finishes 15th, then hes failed.. lots of circumstances need to be considered.. Honestly though, if Ant beats Roger, the younger Hayden can kiss any Gp future goodbye

I can see the logic...but only if it applies to tracks other than Laguna, like Phillip Island...since this would give both riders a shot at showing their stuff againts one another on each of their respective home tracks...

I wonder what Hayden will turn out the best Nicky or Roger? I like sibling rivalry's especially in Motor Sport. I hope that both of them will do well at the weekend.

Obviously Nicky is better and always has been. Probably will be forever. He got the good batch of DNA. The first child usually is the most gifted

Nicky is the middle child isn't he?

Yes.

Don't forget ladies and gentleman, Ant had one day (or was it two?) of testing under his belt before his first ride. RL's test in Japan was rained out and limited to just under a day.
