<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (roger-m @ Aug 5 2008, 11:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>the toilet story.

by the media centre there was a toilet block. this is a permanent toilet block not your porta loo. after taking photos of our heros exiting the media centre jumkie said he needed the toilet, at first i thought he got a little to excited and needed to visit the loo to knock one out then i thought it was probably more a case he had a weak bladder and could not hold his beer.
after waiting a while jumkie emerged from the toilet block with a huge grin, this grin was so big i wondered weather he had stood in line and noticed he had the biggest tool or if he had just explored his sexuality and liked it
<
<
well it turned out jumkie was so excited because he was next inline for a piss behind none other than mr earl hayden. jumkie had actually pissed on earls piss
<
i had a sneaky suspicion the fanboy had actually taken a swab
<
<

Jumkie would have a smile on his face about standing in line to pee with Squirrel. He wasn't pitching a tent was he?

i hope you all do. i booked my flights from london to LA about 4 months before i went. fuel prises hand not begun to really rise then and i paid £489. the lady sat next to me on the flight was only going to new york (about half my distance), she booked about a month before departure and she paid £580. from the start of this month our government has slapped yet another "green" tax on all international flights
<

you can pick up cheap flights if your willing to fly any time and at very short notice but thats not a lot of good to us when where going to see a race, because are dates are fixed.

I never understood why airlines charge you more for buying your ticket later.
distance is still the same, it's still one seat, going to the same place

It's all apart of economics, I forget the name of the term. Essentially, the assumption is that someone who is looking to fly from LA to London would be willing to pay $1,000 USD for a ticket three months in advance. Taking that time period down to a week in advance, that same person would likely be willing to pay $1,600 because there is no longer an abundance of seats and demand for fewer seats will be higher. It all plays on the fact that the consumer will pay the price raise.

Those seats that are sold within hours of the flight at a fraction of the original price are based on sunk cost. Say the airline has sold 110 of 150 available seats at $500 each as of the morning of the flight, that's $55,000. But let's say that the cost of fuel and crew and tax and landing fees etc. is $75,000. The airline could hope that the remaining 40 seats are sold at $500 each and they could break even on the flight or raise the prices of the remaining 40 seats predicting that only a few will sell. The airline has already sunk $75,000 in operating the flight and is unlikely to break even in the deal, they may as well recoup as much of that cost as possible by selling as many seats on the final morning as possible. And in most cases, cutting prices sees more sales and more money than selling a few tickets at regular price and fewer at an inflated rate.

Sorry for the lecture, I don't know what just happened. Also I'd like to apologize with adding such boredom to such an otherwise brilliant thread. I'm embarrassed.

the only way I can eat menudo is to dump a ton of chorizo or red chile in it. It's great to be around while its cooking. As the kids run by, pull out a pigs foot and they all scream

Carne Asada perhaps?? That is the best .... ever. Burritos and tacos, when done right are absolutely amazing.
